Driver's seat or passenger's seat?

In my current situation, I only got to drive a car in my life five times! And most often, I am a passenger. My husband would rather drive the car, I always offer him something like, he should let me drive more often so that he can rest while we travel or he can nap a little, but he'd rather be on the driver's seat and being in control, per se. How about you?

Well it depends where and how far we are going, if it in with in city i drive , my wife etc sit, but if it is a long journey, my son and me drive alternately, we keep talking to avoid being bored and feel sleepy..
Thank you so much for this nice discussion and sharing what you do lol.
Professor. . Cheers have a lucky day ahead.
God bless you. Welcome always.

Is this a metaphorical question or is it about driving? Just curious.. lol. I like to be the driver, at least in terms of the car, because all of the guys I've ever been with (okay - all of THREE) drove like frickin' maniacs and I can't handle it. I can be a lead foot, but I am not reckless like some guys are. And girls, too. So I like to be in control as best as I can with the driving.

I dont like handing over my car keys! I wasnt allowed to drive for a few weeks after surgery earlier this year and I hated being a passenger - especially in my own car! Now and again its nice to be driven by someone I trust but mostly, I'd prefer to be the driver.

I am more at ease and more confident when I am at the wheel. When it is someone else driving, I get paranoid and have to hold on to my seat especially if the driver is careless. I'd rather do the driving because I know where and what I am doing. I don't very much others to drive for me.

It's the opposite in my case. My hub has been encouraging me to bring our car daily everytime i go to work while he takes the motorcycle on his way to work; however, i find driving in narrow and traffic road so stressful that i prefer to get a ride on a public utility vehicle instead or back ride on my hub's motorcycle instead. And when there are times that we have to bring the car together, I always find myself on the passenger. I prefer to be on that position than be the driver unless I am left with no choice... say, hub couldn't come home from the Base and I have to drive the kids to school. But driving to the countryside is much better since the wide road is yours to control... no traffic, no hassles in driving, hence, I enjoy being on the driver seat.

For me, its a bit of both.. some years ago, My father used to drive and me, My mother and my brother used to be at passenger seat. Last year my father passed away and now me and my brother share driving.. I love long distance driving out the city and my brother loves driving in city. But we frequently go to city side, so my brother only drives and me at passenger seat (mostly rear, coz my mother likes to be in front) and enjoy the music. And during long distance drive, its vice versa.. But i love more to be in passenger seat as to be relaxed, But love driving too.

I think driving yourself puts your life into your hands and many people often feel comfortable doing just this!

I pasted my practical driving test in March this year. Since then I have driven my car lots of times. It is a blue car and it has five doors. I have myself in the drivers seat and in the back of my car I have got infant car seats for my disabled toddler son and baby daughter.

I pretty much always did all the driving. My ex would stay up late and then be to tired to drive so tired or not I had to do it or he would fall asleep at the wheel. No matter how tired I am I do not fall asleep at the wheel. One time I did have a hard time but I did not fall asleep. I like to be the passneger because I can sit and read a book to consume the time when we are driving and I have nothing to do.

Hi there frenzylady!
We have an opposite situation, my fiancée is forever trying to make me learn driving but I always refuse, I have a short fuse you see, I don't think I'd make a good driver but I might have to learn eventually because as he points out I have to be able to take our children to school someday, or heaven forbid something happens to our future children I would need to drive to the hospital as he would not always be around...but I'm not yet pregnant, so maybe I'd learn it later...much, much later.)

i prefer the passenger's seat not because i don't know how to drive but because as a passenger i can see the beauty of what is in the side of the road..

I have to drive as a student to school. It's convenient for my situation. I can go places by my own. I prefer to drive because it is cool being in control.
