I am really confuse about the real concept of paying out taxes. And if we don't pay them we will be jailed for tax evasion. what I know is that we work hard to earn money. Which I know we deserve it. As long it was on the process of good. If I recalled it right. Our late Andres Bonifacio fight to pay taxes. Why is that we are still paying our taxes. So whats the point of fighting for? Could anyone enlighten me about the "Paying our Taxes on time" What will happen to the taxes that we pay? Is the money used for right person and not to our GREEDY OFFICIALS out there.

We pay taxes because we have to support our government. There are so called expenses of governance which generally is the cost of maintaining a bureaucracy that sees to it that all public services are performed. We are living as a community under one nation. The government is there to ensure that there is peace and order and the people manning those tasks in government has a life to live too and they need livelihood which come from our taxes. This is the reason for the now famous speech slogan of Pres. Aquino "kayo ang boss ko". I think Bonifacio's defiance is more on his resistance for foreign domination. In short, the taxpayers foot the salaries of the government officials and employees. called public servants.

Tax is supposed to be government funding for public services. You know, paving streets, health care, all that good stuff. If you don't pay taxes you're basically stealing. And stealing's bad.

God? no our taxes help pay for police and paramedics and fire men they work for us to protect us so I do not mind paying taxes as it all goes to help our lives to have safe streets to drive on, safe water to drink police officers to protect us from crime, fire fightgers to protect our hones. The taxes go to make our world work as it should so be glad to pay them. we need all the things that our taxes provide for us.

actually, the concept is great. we give some of our money to help the government building roads and others for the people. but it is, sometimes the greedy officials want to take the whole tax for them self and won't to share with the people

You're confusing your history. Bonifacio was against the cedula, the system of identification designed by the Spaniards to keep track of the indios. They tore their cedulas during the cry of Balintawak because it was a symbol of slavery to the Spaniards. We pay taxes so that this nation can function. Without taxes, we will not have roads, markets and even people to service everything that we need. It's what keeps the system going. Its the mark of civilization that we work together so that everything will be easier. Consider a society without government - you wake up, and you want coffee. If there are no markets, you will have to harvest your own coffee, get your own egg for breakfast. After which you want to take a bath. Since there is no government infrastructure in place then you would have to look for a body of water. Then you would need soap ... you get my drift. You will spend the entire day just building a little society. Isn't that exhausting? I know its frustrating that there are a lot of corrupt individuals who will pocket the money. But those are the issues we have to deal with. Hopefully, if the government is good, it can prevent such leakages. Such is our imperfect world.

Taxes are for government officials, policemen, firemen, basically every government personnel but they're not really using it the right way. Most Government officials are corrupt that the funds supposedly for develoment goes into their pockets as well.

It is ok to pay taxes syoti, the point of paying taxes is for our government to have funds. These funs are intended also for us, like social welfare, it is our taxes that pays the government employees, it is our taxes that also runs those public health center, the public schools.. but the sad thing is we really do not feel it sometimes because sadly, there are corrupt government officials that hoard those funds and well it just go in their pockets instead of public welfare. If we also do not pay taxes, our debts, the country's debt will go higher and higher since there are no funds to utilize and the government will sort to borrowing loans from the world bank..even right now, the country is already collecting taxes yet it isn't enough because the rate of tax is quite low. That is why our debt is also getting higher in world bank. Do you know that in some countries their tax rate is as high as 40%? but the good thing with them is it goes back to public welfare.

Whenever i receive my payslip, i would always see the 30% tax deduction... wow! I love my country! The taxes that you pay for are used by the government for infrastructures, health care, salaries to government employees. Which so reminds me, there are many tax payers who are disappointed with the government such that they refuse to even practice their right to suffrage. Then i think, they have all the more right to vote because they are the ones who pay for the salaries of government officials good or bad. All i could say is that, just do your responsibility in paying your taxes. And when you vote, imagine yourself as the employer of the one you are voting for. Do these people deserve your hard-earned money? Do you think these people can manage your taxes efficiently? It is largely our fault on who sits on the throne, hence, we have no right to complain.

From what I've understood..people pay taxes because it is their responsibility. taxes are supposed to pay for public services- and they are supposed to come back to us. They're like insurance i think.

It is primarily to pay for things like public schools and or government programs, although I find they are not utilized properly that is why US is in such a deficit as they take care of their salaries first before they think about important issues that need tending first.
