Christmas is coming really soon. I am a person that like Christmas very much. Yes some may say that Christmas is really not the Christian way but I do not see the problem for me as a Christian to celebrate it from my Catholic perspective. Some say it is the pagan's celebration but are the Pagans not human being? Yes they are human being too and still within God's glory. Now, I am so anxious to hang some Christmas decoration especially on the house door. I am afraid that it is still too early to do that.

Dude, I need you really check the fact again. What do you mean by Christmas as a pagan celebration? I think you mention a wrong celebration, I think you mean Halloween as a pagan celebration. Christmas is a Christians celebration and so is Easter. Christmas is a celebration to celebrate the coming of Jesus Christ to this world. So where did you get the fact that Christmas is a celebration for pagan?

Thank you for your comment. As what I was saying, some people said that Christmas is related to pagan celebration. There are ample of materials in regards of this issue. But again, I did said that Christmas is very significant to me as Christian.

My decorations and tree will be going up tomorrow (always the day after Thanksgiving). I will also start singing Christmas Carols. I love this time of the year and mother nature has already given Idaho a White Christmas two days before Thanksgiving. Yesterday my husband went to the store and he heard a little boy (he was probably 5 or 6) singing "I'm Dreaming of a White Thanksgiving. Just like the one we just had this week. Where the schools are closed and vacation is long, and we have no homework to do...." It was so cute I am sorry that I missed the song.

The best time to put up your Christmas decorations is when you want to give your home a Christmas look. You should not be pressured by deadlines because Christmas is about being heppy and joyful. We celebrate it to remember that unto us a Savior is born. So whenever you feel like celebrating the birth of our Lord, then go ahead, put up all your decorations. But if you just put up decorations for the sake of keeping a theme around your home, then it will be good to put up your Christmas decors after you take down your Thanksgiving or fall decorations. Happy decorating!

we already have our decorations up. Here in my country, when the "-ber" months start, people put up decorations, tv and radio programs start counting down for christmas, etc. There are christmas sales everywhere. Bazaars and tiangges start so that people can buy gifts already. In our family, we put up our decorations after my sister's birthday. When we were kids she was annoyed by the fact that we're already putting up christmas decors but she hasn't had her birthday yet. Her birthday is in november. So after that, we've been putting up the decors the nearest weekend or day-off after her birthday. :)

Christian, Catholic or Pagans, christmas is a season of give and care and a holiday. So everyone is entitled to celebrate it. As for the christmas tree, my feel is that 2 weeks before the actual is a good time. Too early and it might just collect dust.

well for me the best time to do the Christmas decorations is after the Holloween. You already have enough time by then think of the beautiful and colorful lanterns and Christmas lights to be hanged indoor and outdoor. To add the the decorations to be done on the Christmas tree. Its really exciting.

Some Christmas traditions have pagan origins, but I don't think that should stop people from celebrating Christmas. After all, it doesn't have anything to do with pagan culture right now... the original meanings of those traditions have been lost. It's time to celebrate Jesus, and can't Jesus cleanse something that once was sinful and dirty? As for when to put up Christmas decorations... well after Thanksgiving please! Probably when we have to do our first advent ceremony is when we'll start putting them up.
