If you don't watch television, why?

I think that I find that there it is a combination of three things. Not enough on television to interest me, not enough time, and if I wanted to watch something, it would be available without commercials by other means. Too many commercials and too many repetitive commercials is a big reason. So how about you? If you don't want television, why don't you?

I think that the commercials do serve a purpose in that they allow me to do other things like check my e-mail, go to the bathroom, or make a snack. However when I can't really make an excuse to do those things, then they are just an exercise of frustration. Thank you for your response. It is much appreciated and it contributed to the topic well. I don't watch TV because I only get like 5 channels, and most of the shows are soap operas. Now if I had cable, it would be very different.

Yeah, I am not too fond of soap opera. If I had the five channels that one would get without cable, there might be a couple of game shows that I would watch but other than that, it is really thin pickings. My study is so busy that I barely have time to afford to watch TV. And I think I can get more information from reading than watching TV.

The reason I don't watch TV much anymore is because I am a huge gamer, and I have more good games that absorb a lot my time. That, and the only TV show that I love to watch doesn't come on at a very convenient time, so I miss it most of the time.

I seem to watch alot less tv now then i use to watch.I think the reason behind me not watching the tv is due to being on the internet, like i have been today,as well as there are not many things on the tv that i watch other than soaps.I even think that christmas will be just the same.

I wouLD rather listen to yhe radio than watch telivision. Music relaxes me more than watching tv.

I think I would find myself agreeing with that. There is just something about music that puts me in a stress free mood. At one time television might have done that but even then, music is just doing it more so. Thank you for your response. It is much appreciated and it contributed to the topic well. I don't watch much TV cos I got internet and with it access to all things that interest me,but I do watch some shows, like Simpsons and Intervention,and specially natgeo,discovery,animal planet,history and that kind, I specially like shows about fat people getting fit cos it encourages me,not to be fat haha, but to work out and get in shape,and sometimes it's just good to lay on bed and watch TV, but I read a lot so no reading on tv unless it has subtitles,hehe guess TV hasn't much to offer anymore.
