Here the soccer is still many Chinese's ache because our soccer team has never had a satisfactory achievement. It just plays worse and worse. However, the soccer players' income is better and better. If you ask Chinese which sports we hope we can be good at it, then many of us will tell you it is soccer.

soccer of course. it's the world's most popular and loved game. it's my passion and it's the game i want my country or say the team i support to do it's best. China is much better than India in world soccer, or say in Asia. China has at least participated in one World Cup and is competing respectably with other teams from around the world. look at India, not even among the better teams in Asia, forget about the world. it's been many years since they last qualified for the Asia Cup. they've qualified for the 2011 Asia Cup after a long gap and they were preparing for it till until recently in the Middle East, stationed in the UAE. can u imagine - India lost their preparatory games badly: 9-1 against Kuwait, 5-0 against UAE, and 2-0 against Iraq. not only these, they've been losing regularly against other opponents too like Thailand, Japan, etc. it's a long way to go for Indian football. China is much better, my friend. i read in the newspaper a few days ago about international friendlies and China beat Latvia 1-0. at least China are competing against teams around the world much better and respectably. i was just wondering how's India gonna fare against teams like South Korea, Australia and Kuwait, or something like that, in the group stage of 2011 Asia Cup! and for the record, my friend, India were Asian Champions twice and runners up a few times, finished fourth in the 1956 Melbourne Olympics and had very good records previously, at least in Asia. also they lost the 1948 Olympics semi-final 2-1 to France when they missed two penalties. just imagine the downfall of what was once a better footballing country at least in Asia. so, be happy about China and where they are now.

I am not sure whether soccer is as popular as cricket in India, but in China soccer is a very popular game. However, we can't even play it well. Chinese soccer team was qualified to the World Cup once. But at that time there was one more quota for Asia since South Korea and Japan held the World Cup together.

sure cricket is the most popular game in India but there are lots of football followers too. in fact, football's popularity has increased manifold during recent years. i think u've heard of a city called Kolkata (Calcutta)? that city is football-crazy and has been like that over the years. it's been visited by legends like Maradona, Pele, Beckenbauer, Paul Breitner, Gerd Muller, and many others, where they even played charity games. my point is - yeah cricket is definitely the numero uno sport in India but football is gaining in popularity and may some day come close to cricket's status, if not better. and i'm definitely football-fanatic, not cricket. yeah, i agree with u about China's football. but China are among the better ones in Asia. don't u agree with that? of course Asia's tops are South Korea, Japan, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Iraq, etc, but China has been competing well against them, isn't it? i'm sure China have beaten them at some point or the other and hasn't fared too bad at all. sure improvement is what everyone wants to see from any team. i'm sure China will improve like in other sports which make them Olympics and Asian champions. congratulations on the dominant performance in the recently concluded Asiad in Guangzhou! it proved once more what a sporting superpower China are. keep up and keep Asia's pride in the 2012 Olympics too and later on. football will take encouragement and follow suit.

Hi youless! Soccer is a national pastime here. It's a very popular sporting activity and has enjoyed a great crowd in every sporting event. But it has yet to be our best. I think, omparatively, our water polo team has been bringing in more medals than soccer from many international events. But, then again, soccer will continue to be our favorite sport for a long time to come, as I see it.

Hi there you less. Yes, you might think that having so many people to choose from, China / India should have better soccer teams. Here in Romania, we lust for better soccer achievements as well, a semi-final or final of EURO or World Championship would be great to raise people's morale - lately we had trouble even qualifying at these competitions.

LOt of players were getting throphies during the competition around the world and I loved watching them fight for their countries. I think we have such achievement due to our government has paid a lot for it. The athletes have better treatment and income, and they have professional training all the time.

hockey canada - the symbol for hockey canada
Technically my country's official sport is lacrosse. It was a game started by the First Nations of Canada. However, hockey is the love of my country. A lot of young boys dream of being a famous hockey player. The best player ever is Canadian.... Wayne Gretzsky. Also our national pride Tim Hortons Coffee is named after a hockey player. However I really could care less about hockey. Although, It was fun seeing the Canadians beat the US hockey team to the gold medal in Vancouver this past year. I say go hockey and go Canada for all the other fans out there.
