Hi,
I got an issues here with my hdd.
first of all, i?m running a win xp sp3 laptop, p4 1,8 ghz cpu, 1 gig ddrram, 60 gb sata HDD.
My laptop refuses to boot from my hdd. if i try to reinstall windows, the setup cant find any hdds, although the BIOS detects it just fine.
Pluging said hdd in another laptop, it is recognized by the BIOS AND the windows setup cd.
Plugging in another hdd into my laptop, it`s not recognized by the windows setup just fine...
Bebe-pleure
conclusion: broken SATA controller.
Or what would you say?

if you know some hardware than open your laptop remove RAM, disconnect the power cable which is connected to hard disk than again reconnect it than connect your RAM again and try to start your laptop, i think it will work there will be some humidity problem with your laptop nothing major fault, if it doesn't work than visit and professional hardware guy.

May I know the brand of the laptop please?Sometimes, you do have to integrate the SATA controller into Windows Setup CD in order to get your notebook running.
