PTC, PTS and similar programs why I don't join them

Simply put they don't pay enough, sure there are some who make plenty of money with them but me, I am terrible at getting referrals, which is my real problem but one person who I was chatting with said they don't make sense. Here is the figures they came up with: I click 10 ads a day, I earn 10 cents 10 referrals click 10 ads per day and I get 100% referral earnings, I earn $1 My total earnings are $1.10 per day for 365 days I earn $401.50. The real problem they saw was keeping there 10 referrals clicking 10 ads a day if they can't get 10 referrals they would simply drop out of the program, if they can't get referrals they earn $36.50 per year. 5 minutes per day with no referrals means I would earn $1.20 per hour. That didn't make any sense to them and it doesn't to me either. Is there anything wrong with their figures?
