Can anyone tell me if this is a bad idea?

I had an idea the other day that ive seen people with chains that are out of this world. Seeing as how i own an old style boom box, which looks really cool and works, would be my new chain. I would buy a dookie rope, and attach the boom box to my chain and wear it around. Now, since the boom box is 14 pounds, would that put a lot of stress on my neck? Or would i remain unharmed? Yes, i know it would look crazy but i would play it in school every time I walked through the doors. So, is this a crazy idea?
