Pass the Philippines' Reproductive Health (RH) Bill now!

I am a staunch supporter of the Reproductive Health (RH) bill in the Philippines. Apparently, this bill has been getting a lot of support lately, with a lot more people realizing that a ballooning population, with scarce resources is a BIG problem. It is just a simple case of supply and demand. Unfortunately, the Catholic Church has been fighting tooth and nail just so that this bill would not be passed. It's strategies range from disinformation (artificial methods cause cancer) to downright arm twisting (threatening Congress supporters of the bill, including the president, with excommunication). Well apparently, people are getting more and more educated and gone are the days when the faithful simply obey the Church blindly. I consider this a mini-Rennaissance for Philippine society (although i'll leave that for another post). Anyway i encourage Filipinos out there to show your support for the RH bill by signing up at http://www.petitiononline.com/rhan2008/petition-sign.html.

I think I had some argument similar to this but I wasn't promoting the RH bill but rather asking why priests go against the RH bill. Priests don't know how to manage ten kids crying from hunger do they?

True, priests have no idea how difficult it is to raise a family of 10 kids. It is my advocacy to promote the RH bill.

I got that idea from Mr. Lourd de Veyra of the Radioactive Sago, an intelligent artist and journalist and some other ists. Here's the cool, and very meaningful video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gGT5VZix8CM watch it it's very meaningful. His other videos are the same, very informative and creative.

I support this bill too. because of the booming population, the government is finding it hard to resolve issues about poverty. and i hate it when i see kids working hard instead of going to school, when there are lots of families having no food to eat, etc. i believe that decreasing our population is one of the keys for Philippines to progress and rise from poverty.
