What do you think of slippers as gifts for the kids?

Last year's Christmas, I gave bookmarks with Bible and words of wisdom verses for the less fortunate kids who live in the mountain. A good friend of mine from abroad sent stuff animals, and school supplies. We fed them burgers, donuts and fruit juices because most of these children have never gone to the city. All of them have never tried to eat the food mentioned above as well. We do understand... Their parents could not even buy slippers to use. :( So I have thought of "slippers" this year as gifts for them this coming holiday season. Do you think they will like it?
