I love to buy toys

We have no small children to buy toys for any more, in fact our whole family has quit buying holiday gifts. But I am not going to let that stop me, I buy one or two small toys each time I shop for groceries. These I put in the gift box for the children who's family can't afford toys. There are a great many more families in our area this year and I get to shop for toys each week. What a great gift to give myself and someone else.

You are doing a wonderful thing. It is such a sad time of year for kids in need. t is such a small act by you every week, but it will make a little kid's day, week or longer. Keep up the great work. Br proud of what you are doing.

That is a great gift to be able to give. I had hoped that we would find ourselves in a better financial situation such that I would have been able to call the family resource center at my daughter's school and get some information on a family there that wasn't going to be able to have Christmas so that I would be able to give that family Christmas. However, like so many other people in the world this year, we are struggling. That said, I've still donated a lot of things that my children are no longer able to use.

I know what you mean. Now that my own children are grown I have such fun picking things off the gift trees in stores and buying things for Toys for Tots and other programs. It really brings a sparkle to the holiday for me.

You are such a good good person. If everyone bought a little toy and put it in one of those boxes, there would be no children waking up without on Christmas morning.

Hi savypat: I think that's beautiful and a really good action that you are doing. I think that's what really Christmas meand and you might be happy because, with your action you are making Christmas come to the homes of the people that don't have the same financial possibilities that you have. I hope that you are well. ALVARO

I agree, buying toys is fun. So is buying art supplies, and cute little clothes. I have more to do with now than when my kids were at home. I think you do a great thing,

What a wonderful thing to do in your community. When I lived in New York we always had toys for tots. I would be buying for my two young daughters at the time but would usually find extra money to buy a toy or two for the toys for tots campaign. I have to see where there maybe something like that in Puerto Rico. All I have seen here so far are the santa's helpers ringing the bell at the stores for money.

hello pat, i still got small nieces and nephews and grandchildren (sons and daughters of the older nephews and nieces)starting to add up. hence i start buying toys around october every year. but i am happy about your idea of buying one or two small toys each time you shop. i think i like to do that too starting now. it would be great to give to the little ones who come at night to do caroling. i could give toys instead of candies and coins. am sure they will like that too. am imagining their beautiful smiles now. but do you think they would come back every night until christmas? ann

I really appreciate what you're doing. I'm sure GOD will bless you for your generosity and having compassion for the poor. We also have a gift-giving project in our church for those less fortunate family. It's been my pleasure to be part of that project too.

Oh, but this is a nice way to celebrate christmas...really into the spirit of christmas. And you are right, this is a great gift to give to yourself as giving gives more pleasure especially when done to those who "don't have". Merry merry christmas to you savypat!

Hi pat~ I think that is very generous of you. I'm sure that the children that receive the gifts will really appreciate that you took the time to think of them.
