What excuse do you give to take a day off?

Apart from the Sick leaves that you take, mention some good leave requests that you give for taking a day off at your office.
In my office if I ask for a sick leave, they will grant 1 or 2 hrs permission to go to the doctor and come straight to office with the tablets. So, I never ask for a sick leave.. :(
Can you give some good leave request strategies to take a day off??

Well my friend you work in the wrong office.At my place you can call in sick and they don't have the right to ask you if you are really sick or to have an excuse from the doctor.I couldn't believe it when my co-worker told me that,it is in the contract.So for me all i have to say i am sick.Don't get me wrong i only can call once or twice a month but is better than 1-2h with a doctor's note.

Yeah I know, my boss is like that and I m pissed working in my office. I still have 3 leave balance this year.
