I am South African, now living in Croatia, I emigrated to Croatia eight years ago, a beautiful place too, but a huge adjustment for me. Getting into the life here now, learning a new language and in the region where I live is peaceful and crime free.

Nice to meet you Neshrie, yes it takes time for adjustment at a new place, language is always a barrier initially, but it gets over with time..
thanks for sharing
cheers

Yes it is one of the most beautiful parts of Eastern Europe, a great place for one retiring, and to be at your leisure, the region where we are is crime free. Scenarios exquisite, we are next to the old castle, which will be open to tourism next year, a wonderful environment, the village we live in is called Dunave, this region is called Konavle, we have many tourists coming into the village to see how the Croatian village people live and experience the traditional food, drinks and other home-made dairy products.
Dubrovnik is also one of the great tourist attraction at the moment for its history a lovely place to be from April till September, we are in village tourism at the moment and if ever you are interested, please email me. Will be glad to assist you

Good for you! I have been to Croatia, and I have to say it is a beautiful place indeed! It can be hard to adjust to a new place, especially if you are an adult, but I do think it gets easier as time passes by.
