Is good or bad to have birthday the same day as christmas?

my oldest brother's birthday is on chrismas day and when we were children my wonderful, brillient, mother had a big party for him every summer. she made banners that said ''happy unbirthday!!'' there was always a cake that said ''happy unbirthday''. she had parties for the rest of us during the year and didn't think it fair for him to miss out. we played games for prizes, lots of neighborhood kids were invited, and he was always king for a day. this was the day my parents got him birthday presents. i don't know how old he was when she started this because he is the oldest and i am the youngest. so i suggest you pick a date next summer and throw yourself an unbirthday party. go all out with decorations and make the biggest cake you can. you, your friends, and family will have a great time and make a great memory. you deserve this.

i've heard that some people only get one gift when their bday is the same as Christmas because everyone just makes it as one! That would suck.

My sisters have the same date of natal day and they are both celebrating their bday together this day. My two elder sisters. And you know they were happy too and because they are both at the same date it is not their problem what their goin to prepare for the celebration. THe only thing is most of the people dont remember that day is the same celebration as Christmas. But for them they are so blessed with the Lord.. A birthday on a holiday can be a let down. this is especially true for a christmas birthday. A birthday can lose its special appeal when it can't be done to call just your own.

We even got believe that people born on the day comes with the name like other dates . So you not only have birthday you have a nameday(i dont know if thats the word) too . Well i haved someone i know that have all 3 in one day ( chrismas , birthday and nameday ) but we were not close enough for me to buy him presents , well i have another thing to do at home on that day anyway . (its good i dont know people like that ;) )

Your birthday is on 25th December that is very big day as we celebrate it as a Christmas day. You should consider yourself lucky that you are born on this day. Moreover, on this day there is holiday all over world so what you want better than this in your life that you are the most lucky person in the world.

I remember one of my ex boss birthday was December 25, 2010. We generally use to forget on that day since it is a holiday. Either we use to wish him previous day or next day of his birthday. I totally agree never the birthdays should be falled on festival days.

i have a friend whose birthday is on the 24th and since it is the german tradition to open gifts on the 24th. she got her birthday presents in the morning, Christmas presents at night. i feel for ya!

i look at it the other way - it is a good thing! no one will pester you to treat them because it is your birthday ha ha

I think nothing is wrong with having a birthday same with CHRISTmas. Just think of some other ways where you can spend it with your friends. Besides, it's a special occassion to spend with your family also.Don't be annoyed for it will ruin your day.

Well, there is only one bad thing about it. You get only ONE gift? That is about it. But, in general there is no biggie about having a birthday on Christmas.

This is probably good for your parents to celebrate 2 in 1 and buy only one gift.Not so good for you i supose.Anyhow you should have a good birthday coming on soon.

My brother has birthday on 25th DECEMBER,too... I think is not always a GOOD THING. It's not a problem of gifts; but your friends could not think about you because they think about Christmas and they don't mind that it's the same day... I think that if your BIRTHDAY is 5th June or 20th October, people could remind more about it.

I think it is a bad thing to have your birthday on or around Christmas because it is overshadowed by this big event and it isn't really "your special day". Also you are likely to get less presents because people are buying loads of gifts at that time of year. Personally, I would like to have my birthday in June, then I would get presents every 6 months.

My dad's birthday is about ten days before christmas. And he told me that, growing up, he didn't really like it.

A close friend of mine has a son whose birthday is on the 25th. He loves it though, because his relatives hold a Christmas Party slash Birthday Party for him, and yes, get double presents for his fortune. I'd think that the only bad thing about having a birthday on Christmas is because of all the hustle and bustle that must go on to celebrate both holidays. I don't know, I would have liked my birthday to be on the 25th, to be a Christmas Baby :)

A have a fried who was born on December 24. He always celebrates his birthday on the 24. He has a small party a (few hours) and it has become a nice tradition to visit him in the morning. He can't have a big party because most people are busy that day, but some of the his closest friends are always there. My grandmother was born on December 23 and she also has a small celebration on her birthday. We usually visit her in the afternoon and afterwards we continue with the christmas preparations.

Hi, Katzedrnacht :D My aunts birthday falls on the New Years Eve, and everything you stated are true. People will not remember that it is your birthday since that day is a holiday and they can't attend to your party because they also have a party to attend too. I would like to give you suggestion, Maybe you can move the day of your birthday and celebrate before or after Christmas.

My half birthday is Christmas day... though I guess that doesn't really mean anything LOL. Anyways my brothers birthday is in the beginning of December so he ends up getting two sets of gifts very close together. One one hand he's lucky but on the other hand it might be better to have your birthday and christmas spread apart so you don't have to wait to December to get ALL your gifts.
