Are doctors rich?

Yes sure. In my country, most of doctors are rich, they can build a villa, buy a new car... They open a clinic at there house and earn very much from this.

I believe doctors are rich here, in the United States. They make good money!

Doctors are generally pretty well off (the ones that are decently good, at least). I guess it depends on what kind of doctor you are. Some doctors, like cardio surgeons, make millions of dollars a year. These doctors, obviously, are really rich and can afford multi-million dollar homes. Others, like family doctors, don't make much more than 100K per year, which is decent, but not worth it, because they have to still go through years of medical school. A doctor lives in my neighborhood. He has four houses, one here (rented out to other people), one in Chicago, one in Florida, and one in Boston. You always get impressions that doctors are rich, but only the rich doctors are the ones that are known. It largely depends on what kind of doctor you are, and how good you are at your job. Here in our country you need to be rich to be a medical doctor, so for me being doctor is rich. Doctor is not just an occupation it is a status symbol. Going to medical school requires lots of money. My brother wants to go to medical school but we can't afford it they said you need at least 1 million worth of tuition fees.

Indeed, I think most doctors are rich, at least richer than me. That is why so many girls want to marry a rich doctor right? One of the honorable career mentioned in all time, either doctor, lawyer, or engineer, isn't it?

Nope and depend. At Malaysia a doctor can be rich, can also be just welathy enough and some just like other people and it all depends. A few doctors in Malaysia involved in politics and that give them extra income. They even have their own private clinic. If they know how to managed and invest their money, they will be quite rich. They even had millions of dollars (it is in USD) in their account. Some have their private clinic and become a specialist but didn't involved in politics. This is a wealthy doctors. They might earn up to a 25K USD gross a month or might be more. They have a good house and good car. Their children also well off and they won't struggle financially. Then there is a low wages doctor. This are mostly those who just graduate. Earn around 2K a month and they mostly have 5 year contract with goverment hospital.

I'm going to have to say no, because I saw this show called "Grey's Anatomy", and the doctors in that show all live in the same house, probably because they can't afford to live on their own. :(

I don't associate real doctors with money. I knew one who was making money but he didn't look like a doctor. Try another association :D

All the doctors that I know are quite well off and can afford to live in multi-million dollar homes. But they are not millionaires. They simply have the credit to float a mortgage that large, and the income to pay for the increased utilities costs. I feel that many doctors are wealthy, but are not filthy rich like CEOs of large companies.

yeah they are rich in knowledge. But in money? maybe? I think not all doctor are rich. Sometimes they offer free service like in medical mission. They take that profession w/ more responsible than to earn more. Hope it help.
