Should government employees be taxed?

I know that one of the causes of corruption is the low pay in government agencies. Well yes it is not the only cause but it is one of the main reasons why the upright don't normally go into government service, simply because they know they would have to compromise in order to support themselves.
One way to alleviate the plight of government employees would be to eliminate the tax imposed on them without necessarily having to increase the amount they are due.
Personally, I believe government employees should not be taxed as I find it absurd for the government to pay its employees only to take money back!
What are your thoughts on these?

I agree to hardworkinggurl,
Anyone should pay tax. All of us works hard for us to be able to have income and all should pay the tax. It is unfair if ordinary people only will pay the tax. A successful country must have people coordinating and helping each other and must be fair with one another.

That's just it, everyone works hard but not everyone is paid what one is due.
I'm saying that in order to draw qualified persons into government service those that are idealistic and have a solid set of principles that would benefit the community, the government should pay their employees an amount equivalent to their counterparts in the private sector.
If removing the tax on income from government sources is the way to do so then what is wrong with that?

Being taxed should not be excluded by anyone. We should all be treated the same. Just because an individual may work for a government agency doesn't mean they should not be taxed too. Fair is fair!

Personally I feel that no one should be exempt as we work hard for our earnings to turn around and it back as well at least this is the way it is in the US.
They also have to pay taxes at the end of the year, I believe. We have many low paying hourly waged people who make so little to then get their obligatory deductions as well.
I suppose I am saying that when we accept a low paying job no one should be discriminated against who should and should not pay taxes. It is kind of the same that middle class people pay higher taxes then those who make higher pays.

I agree with the US and other industrialized country here government employees are paid as much as or even better than those working for non-government industries.
I'm looking at it from the angle of government employees in third world countries where government employees are paid less so much less than their counterparts in non-government institutions.
I guess that should be the case when we accept low paying jobs, but thats also the reason why I'm saying no one who wants to keep his principles in tact or at least most of them are staying out of government. I think the net pay in government should at the very least equal the pay of their counterparts in the private sector. And if the only way to do this is to remove the tax then why is it wrong? After all the tax exemption will only cover their income being paid by the government not those received from their entrepreneurial endeavors.
