Have you ever think about registering serval planets under your name and earn by them? A Spanish woman named Angeles Duran, 49, says that the sun offically belongs to her now, having had the celestial body registered in her name at a local notary office. She says to the reporter:" I know the law: An international agreement states that no country may claim ownership of a planet or star, but it says nothing about individuals." She says she starts to slap a fee on everyone who use the sun and give half of the proceeds to the spanish government, 20 percent to the nation's pension found, 10 percent to research, another 10 percent to ending world hunger, and would keep the remaining 10 percent herself.
What do you think about this woman's action? and do you want to register one planet and charge by it?

If she owns the sun then I am going to sue her for my familys skin cancer, caushing drought and making my lawn crappy, and also inadequate timing of sunshine.

I also plan to sue her conniving the sun at evaporation too much water from our arable land, and lack of sunshine during rainy season which makes my things mildewed easily. Woo,, It seems that she would deal with lots of lawsuits since then..

Well you all have a great point to make. But I have to give her a round of applause for her originallity. As ridiculous as it seems to think she could charge us a Sun usage fee. It still rates up there with nameing a star after someone...

Now, that is an original idea! Naah, but seriously, this is just plain silly! She just wants attention, I guess.

Actually, she is not the first person to do this. An American man had registered ownership of the moon and most planets in our solar system. An Authorized lunar Embassy Agent even had been organized to sell moon land, however, its branch in China seemed to be ordered to close down in accordance with the law.

Well this is just weird and I'm pretty sure would not hold up for her. If this is possible then I want the earth and I am going to charge her rent every single day. You guys (at least the ones that I like) get to live rent free. The possibilities are endless and far greater than Sun ownership.

hello shiningmoon!
we must give her credit for her unusual and very original idea of acquiring income, lol. I must say i haven't thought of that! what a brilliant but ridiculous idea of earning. How can she know that we're using the sun, in order to bill us the fee? lol.
if she had only outlined that she would slap a fee for those who derive energy from the sun, then that is quite believable. But to bill all those who uses the sun? who doesn't use the sun? what a crazy idea is this.

There's clearly something wrong with this woman how can you clam to own the sun.
If she owns the sun than let her go ahead and take the it away because I'm not paying.
By the way this sounds like one of the government's scams to take away more of our hard earned money.

Are you serious??? how does she plan on collecting? Ha - is she going to "turn it off" if we don't pay our "bill"? This is one of the dumbest tricks I've ever heard of!! It's not like a piece of land and she's charging for entrance or something!

OMG at first i was shocked at this but later as i read, i began to know that this can be legally possible i.e by law. Can you imagine the money she's gonna get? I could be millions or even billions in her lifetime. Our Sun would be our ultimate source of energy and most of our energy comes to us as solar energy. Man! she's gonna make tons of money. Personally I believe what she has done is in a manner selfish and if i were to reply to her statement, i would sue her for too much solar radiation that enters our atmosphere. It's HER sun. SHE should do something. Let's strap her to a rocket and send her "home".
