The PC hangs

What we have to do when the PC hangs when trying to access the hard drive on bootup. I offten seeing this at my office computer system. I have told this about my office system IT engineer. However i would like to know the reason from the expertise persons as you.

Sometimes, it might not have to do with your hard drive. For instance maybe your boot sequence is set to scan for USB drive or CD rom first and your USB/CD rom drive has no bootable files in it, therefore such errors might be prompted. If that is the case, just remove the USB device/CD attached and everything will be back to normal :D Cheers!

Defective hard disk drive. Hard disc problems also hangs the computers in case the important Operating System files needed to keep the computer running, become unattainable. Run a disk scan which checks for disc errors and fixes the bad sectors (some examples are scandisk and check disk utilities in windows). If there are bad sectors which can not be repaired, then you need to replace your hard disc.
