Hi my lotters, This is a completely different discussion than my last. At one of my jobs a list has gone up on the notice board about secret santa. Secret santa is this.. people buy gift of small monetry value, usually a couple of dollars, all the gifts are then put into a box or sack, then near to christmas everybody takes out a gift, but they do not know who bought it. well while I think this a good idea,There maybe people who do not celebrate christmas,or can't afford to buy a gift, but because the list is on the notice board, and those who want to join in write their names on the list, everyone knows who hasn't bought a gift, I feel this forces everyone to buy a gift or look like a scrooge.. I understand the idea behind it but I feel it forces everyone to buy something...am I being a misery with this one...what do you think about secret santa? Have a great day. jojo732

I love doing secret santa gift exchanges. Great way to give a gift if you can't afford to give something to everyone. I use to do this in school all the time and now I participate n it on some forums I chat on. Its so much fun. However we do it a little differently we each get a questionaire to fill out on things we like, would want etc. Then everyone is given a "elf, as we call it to buy a gift for. When you receive your gift you find out who your secret santa was that way you are able to thank the. Ive never actually done it that way you said.

Yes it's a nice way of celebrating the Christmas spirit in the office but when you have plenty of officemates then you might get broke at the end of Christmas season In my office where there are only a few of us like 7, I think everyone in the office are scrooges hmmm... I prefer the kris kringle thingy. Cheers!
