I believe that the only way to improve on your English skills is to continue to practice on a daily basis. Alongside with this it is important that you not be offended when corrected.
As the only way you will learn is to be told that it is not proper and get the proper translation. Good luck to you it seems you are doing fine and each day will be yet an experience.

First you have to accept that there is No such thing as Perfect English! Im an American , my first language was English and I am Still learning English. And besides there are many forms of English too . American is differnt from the British that is different fron th Australian! So do the best you can. It will improve the more you use it But Please don't try for perfection . This language is Way too hard and Keeps changing for Anuyone to have perfect English!

Well, you just have to keep on practicing. Some advice that I can give you would be to keep talking to people in English. If you don't know what a word is or if you don't know the syntax, just ask someone, or if you have a dictionary lying around that helps as well. I have been speaking English all of my life, and now I am learning Spanish, and learning Spanish has been very difficult for me. My instructor will constantly correct me, and it can be frustrating at times, but it's what I need in order to learn it. Also, at this current time, my left ear is not doing so well, and I can't hear much out of it. I have to really struggle to listen to what people have to say to me in English and in Spanish.

Don't sweat it, most people who have English as there first language still don't speak it very well. It's probably the constantly changing slang that's tripping you up(aka:stumbling you)and the Grammar rules of the English language. Just converse with someone on a regular basis who has English as there 1st language and don't use slang that much, you'll pick it up.

LOL ~ I'm not saying that all our friends have to be American or have English as their first language, but at least one so you can become familiar with the language outside the classroom. It's how people goto foreign places and come back with a brand new accent.

I underwent english speaking training cuz it was required in my job. What we did was we were all speaking in english whenever we're in the classroom and we did some exercises such as guessing a word similar to the one given. It was more like elementary english but a little mature in content.

Learning a language should comprise both the input and output. I believe that you have to hear good English apart from reading to be able to speak good English. How much should one's input be differs from person to person.
The news such as BBC for British English or the Voice of America are two examples where you would like to consider listening to.

i agree with you on this point. in learning a language, whatever it is, input and output should always go together. it's the same case with acquiring our mother tongue. without input or without output, a person can never successfully acquire or learn a language.

Visiting MyLot and having some English speaking friends is a good way to expand what you know. I also think that you need to hear good English. Watch movies in English to hear how the sentences are structured and how the words sound. You have done pretty well but as someone else said, even native English speakers do not speak perfect English.

First off, "Advices" is not a word. There is no plural form for advice. Go give advice is the same as to advise. To give advice is to share words of wisdom with another person. A similar example of the same language form is "to give blood," or "to give money." Regardless of how much blood, or how much money one gives, one does not give "bloods" or "monies," just as one only gives advice, not advices.

Practice makes the perfect. Don't be afraid of making mistakes. If you practise more, I am sure you will make a progress in your speaking English. Today the internet gives us many opportunity to practise our English. You can make some foreign friends and therefore you can have a chance to take advantage of your English. Have some faith fo yourself and you will succeed it at last.

I had to learn English after coming to Australia from Italy when I was around ten years old. I was fortunate to be a child which helped me learn the language a lot quicker because children’s minds are similar to sponges when it comes to retaining new information. My suggestion to you is to keep mixing with English speaking people, watching movies in English and reading as many books in English as you can. Being here on MyLot is very beneficial when it comes to learning this language.

Communicate a lot and communicate with people who can point out your mistakes because if you just speak English most of the time and nobody corrects you, you're misled into thinking that your expression is correct. Having a one on one class with a teacher who can point out your mistakes is better!

Hello my freind. hmmm so i am assuming that English is not your first language. Same case for me. I am from Pakistan and English is my 3rd Language. I think it all depends on the individual person for learning English. I remember that I watch English based TV alot and thats where i mostly picked up my English, I went to a English based school and i thing more importantly , if you want to achive something, just be patient and be passionate and results will come. Just stay focused and Speak English as much a possible, i also advise you to read English Newspapers everyday to improve your vacabulary. Good Luck
