How we can avoid autorun virus? / myLot

Recently my computer has been attacked by autorun virus I suspected come from my college computer lab, and it is annoying to see the virus keeps running even after detected by the anti virus software I use. I heard that we can stop them by doing something to our computer registry...Can anybody help me with that? Thanks in advance...

There is a software called USB Disk Security which disables all viruses that attempt to launch at auto run including DVDs and CD's.It shows all viruses on the drive and allows You to delete them, works with windows 7 as well.
