How do you decide whether to buy a particular ebook

When you see an ebook for sale on the internet, such as on Amazon, let's say, how do you decide whether to buy the ebook or not?
Do you consider the title of the book-whether the title is appealing or not? What if the book didn't have a cover image-would that turn you off? Would you bypass the book just because it said next to it "cover image not available"
Would you read the product details-such as page number and or file size? Do you consider if the price for the book is worth the length of the book?
Lastly, is the price as compared to the length the only thing that matters? What if the book looked a little expensive compared to the length-would you just bypass it, or would you download a free sample, to see if perhaps the book has valuable information that may justify the cost?
So how do you decide on an ebook?

I buy most of my e-books on Amazon, and the cover honestly does not matter to me at all. What I do check, for some reason, is the reviews of the book (not available for all e-books, so then I might check the reviews for the regular book instead). I think it is really helpful to see what others thought of the book.
And the cost matters too, of course.

yes, i also read the reviews. If you think you might want to buy the book, do you first download the free sample?

That sounds reasonable. Do you usually read the sample? On Amazon you can download a free sample of the book.
