This young girl is absolutely amazing. It all started when she was in third grade and she grew a massive 40 pound cauliflower which she donated to a homeless shelter. It helped feed 275 people! She was so inspired by what she could achieve with one plant that she now has six vegetable gardens producing food for the homeless. You can check out her story here: http://www.tonic.com/article/katies-krops-katie-stagliano-11-grows-donates-tons-veggies-to-homeless/ Do you know of any children doing inspirational things like this?

That's amazing & wonderful at the same time. Where did you find this one? I still remember the 11 year old school girl in New Zealand who appeared in the local newspaper when she exhibited her working model of the Bedini Monopole Generator. Her design, which she had some help with of course, is still being used today by John's Yahoo Group & is also in the process of being built by Yours Truly. I used to think it was New Zealanders that were defying nature, but now I think that 11 year olds are evolving faster than the rest of us! What do your kids reckon? Have they ever done anything like this?

Yep, Raw Pleasure! Yeah, I reckon that I will get him interested in the Bedini when I get around to researching and learning more about it. I think it would be a great project for us to do together. Well, I know how to use liquid nails, so I should be right I guess! We are most likely going to still be here at Christmas time. The market is pretty slow here at the moment, so unless we sell really cheaply, it will take a while. We are not terribly desperate, so we will see what happens for a few more weeks.

It is a pretty awesome story isn't it. It was emailed to us by one of our friends in Canada. We have included it in our December newsletter that I was proofreading this morning. You should subscribe to our newsletter if you have not already done so. Wow, that is cool that an eleven year old can build a Bedini Monopole. If she can do it, then we certainly can. How far along are you? Nearly finished it? My daughter just turned eleven and she is pretty mindful of treating others nicely, but I don't think she would be motivated to do anything as great as this girl has. My son has taken up an interest in renewable energy too after learning about it at school. He is desperate for us to get solar power!

I think I'm already subscribed to your newsletter, but I'll have to check... Raw Pleasure isn't it? You've really got to raise that lad of yours on the Bedini Generator. It beats solar power hands down for power output per dollar spent & runs 24/7 by itself. He should be helping you to get motivated to build one! It could be his next school project. I haven't had time to do much actual physical work, but I've finished making my own spool, held together with Liquid Nails & filled the core with the Australian exact equivalent welding rods (also held in place by Liquid Nails which a fellow builder in WA swears by), which I posted the details of last month on the Yahoo Group. I've got all the magnet wire & am about to start my one thousand twisted pair turns of winding the wire on the spool. How's your big move going? Do you think it'll happen by Christmas?

Wow incredible indeed. I do know several kids that donate their time at our community church. But nothing as courageous as this. Thanks for sharing as it is quite inspiring even to us adults who perhaps do not contribute a half of what this little one does.

It certainly makes you wonder what we do with our time doesn't it. She is still having to do her school work and is excelling at that also! We could all take a leaf out of her book, I think.

She makes it seem so easy too. What a capable little girl. She will probably be a millionaire before she's 20...either that or the next Mother Theresa.

Yeah, I think she will be quiet successful in business or in charity work as she seems to have great leadership qualities and is the kind of person who attracts supporters and followers.

Wow..gifted with a little green thimb and a huge heart..great combination! Children can be very inspirational. There was a child here on the news just the other day that had coordinated a huge benefit for poverty stricken families in the area. He made flyers and took up donations of anything that anyone was willing to give. He actually helped a lot of people. The fact that he was in charge and delivered on such a quest was amazing to me. I think he was only 11 or 12 too. I'd like to grow a two inch cauliflower much less a 40 pound one..lol

Wow, that is a great story too Jen. It amazes me how young children can be so inspired to do great things, often without leadership from their parents. It is great to see these kids doing great things as it means there is hope for the future. The world feels like it is balanced on a knife's edge at the moment. It is stories like this that can help to tip the world off onto the 'future is bright' side and not the 'world is ending' side. If you know what I mean.

That is absolutely a very wonderful thing that is done by a very young person. I'm sure those homeless must be so happy and grateful and of course inspired by this kid. I hope too that there will be more young people to do the same and help people without hoping for return. Thanks for sharing and have a nice day

It is amazing how a young girl could have thought of starting a vegetable plot to feed the under-privilege. She is a real gift from God to the unfortunates. I have never come across children so young with a big heart.

Yes, we could learn a lot I think. She is such an inspiration and has such a huge future ahead of her. It is great to see someone that young taking an interest in real farming instead of virtual farming like Farmville on Facebook like many youth are doing!

Isn’t it wonderful to see a person so young knowing her passion and living her life accordingly at such a young age! Katie is clearly an old soul who is already aware of what is important in life and that is remarkable. What about the EcoFly™ toothbrush? She is a person, who is already making a positive difference in the world as a child, what she will accomplish in the years to come will be incredible! To say her parents must be proud would be an understatement I’m sure! We certainly could do with more people like Katie...

Yeah, I had forgotten about the toothbrush! I should have mentioned that in the discussion as well! I mucked up the vegetable as well, calling it a cauliflower instead of a cabbage! My kids are pretty smart, but they have nothing on her. I would be enormously proud if she was my child. She is destined for greatness I think! The world would be a better place if more children did things like this instead of playing computer games.

This 11-year-old should be praised for her efforts and achievements. How many 11 -year-old children would think about the homeless in such a way. she is an inspiration to us all.

that is just fantastic and sweet. A selfless extroverted and community-minded kid, that's a rarity. I think we can make this world a better place if we had more people like this. And the best part is she's just 11 years old. A kid with such a thought is just awesome

Hi apples. It certainly is a rarity unfortunately. It is even rare to find adults in my generation who have done as much community work as she has in her short time on earth. It is like she has been here before and wanted to make up for the mistakes of her past life, so she is not wasting any time achieving great things in this lifetime!

Dude, that's a really big cabbage. I didn't know they could grow that big! What steroids did she feed that monster? lol Well however she got it to grow, it sure did a lot of good. That's a lot of people who have their daily veggie rations. Well that is amazing that someone so young has such a brilliant talent and an even better heart. The funny thing is I know loads of kids who are out there doing inspiration things that most adults would never dream of trying. A young girl at my church did a stuffed animal drive for needy children, and I know of a young girl who collected socks for the homeless.

Wow, that is great that you know of more young people doing fantastic things. I hope that this future generation will be a lot more caring than ours and the past few have been. The world needs these types of people to become it's next leaders! It is a massive cabbage isn't it! I am not sure if it was grown organically or with the use of chemicals. Did you notice though that I called it a cauliflower in the discussion. My mind was not concentrating too hard at that time I think!
