What are some crazy foods you've tried. Honestly, I think TV dinners are pretty crazy.. and processed, chemical-ized, unnatural foods like junk food are more of the 'crazy' foods I've tried, but they are 'normal' here, so it's not so bazaar. The food that most people might think as bazaar that I've tried are Natto. This is a Japanese food and it is fermented soy beans. It has very bad odor but I was raised eating this so I love it. You put it on your rice and people eat this as breakfast over there. It's really healthy for you, but if you're not used to it, you probably won't like it. I've tried raw horse sashimi, which was nasty, any raw meat is nasty to me. But I like most raw fish, if it's sushi. What about you? What bazaar foods have you tried?

When I went to Taiwan a few years ago, a good friend treated me to a huge banquet of vegan foods originating, on one side of the room, from China & on the other side of the room from Japan. The colour & variety & presentation was unlike anything I'd ever seen before or since. The most memorable item that I tried contained a lot of Wasabe. Unfortunately, I didn't know this at the time & thought "oh, this is nice, it must be really good for you because it's green". I almost swallowed the first mouthful whole I thought it'd be so good, but seconds later I was struggling to maintain consciousness! It goes straight to the top of one's head & makes you feel like your head will rocket off of your shoulders! I still don't know the name of the dish / item.
I agree also with your thoughts on junk food & don't touch the stuff myself.

It probably did me good - cleared the sinuses at least. We live & learn

Well... Every time I go to the TX state fair, I have to try some of the new and STRANGE foods they come up with there. This year, we tried things like fried oreos, fried snicker bars, fried cheesecake and fried lemonade (sensing a theme yet?). Some of them were pretty good, others were not, but I don't think I'd want to eat any of them more than once in a great while!
Other than fair foods, when I was a kid my dad used to get all kinds of strange jerky products. I've had alligator jerky, several kinds of snake jerky, and I don't even remember what else.

One thing that comes in mind is eating fried crickets. At the time I didn't realize what it was. But I should say it was darn tasty.
