Okay, Maybe I am wrong, but I have to express my opinion toward this new trend on Blue - Ray disc. Recently, I purchased a laptop computer on Black Friday, and this PC also equipped with Blue - Ray disc Rom. When I pop in a blue - ray movie in it, I don't see much difference from it to regular DVD movies. Maybe the movie was shown in the laptop, maybe it will be better quality on a huge screen TV? Do you think? What is your opinion toward DVD to Blue - Ray.

I have watched movies on both DVD and Blue-Ray and I also am not sure on the difference. One of two things will probably happen: either blue-ray will replace DVD, or something else will come along and make both obsolete.

There is very big difference between DVD and Blue Ray print. The clarity in Blue ray print is more than in DVD because in no of pixels in particular area are more than in case of DVD.

it's not a huge difference. you probably won't see any difference on a computer screen.
even on an HD tv, the difference isn't enormous.
a lot of people don't even use the right sort of cable to connect the blue ray to the tv, meaning that they are only getting a standard DVD image. I love when people go on about how great their Blue Ray image is, and you ask them where they got their HD cable from. they say they just used the normal one. and you point out that it's not actually HD then.
but personally, I don't think the difference is THAT noticeable. it's there, but it's not as dramatic as the film companies want you to think.

There will be difference but it may not be obvious from the computer screen since it is not big. And the difference is not obvious to be seen from a common TV set. If you watch it from the high definition TV, then you will see the difference. The blue-ray disk is clearer and the sound effect is better.
I love China

I agree with you kingparker. I too see no difference from Blue Ray and regular DVD (other than price). I also can't see any difference when I watch anything in HD on my TV. It all looks the same to me.

I do see a difference but not one that I would be so avid to switch too as they are much more expensive than regular DVD, so I find for me it would be a waste of money, really.
