Oh sorry to read that this has happened to you. I have never had this happen to me but, if I can ask what is the reason they stated it was blocked??
Reason for asking is I want to be on the look out in case it ever happens to me.

They usually block accounts for security reasons and on a temporary basis. They told me that my account has been accessed from another IP address. It was actually me who accessed my account from my friends computer, as my own computer wasn't working then. So I told them that, but then they replied that a security question is asked when I log in from a different IP, and if I fail to answer that, my account gets blocked. What's funny here is that, I logged into my account from three different IP addresses but I was never asked any security question even for once. So I found it contradictory. But I understood that they want to be sure about my identity as there are so many money laundering cases out there. So after a long battle of emails I finally decided to cooperate. I submitted a few documents and it lifted the limitation almost instantaneously.

Thanks so much this is good to know, as I am currently accessing form a different IP. So I will rethink my saving there as gosh if I needed my money right away this would certainly be a pain in the rear.
Thanks again you are so very helpful.

Hi,
Yes my Paypal account have been blocked once. They showed me different reasons in different emails and these reasons are often inter-contradictory. But the good thing is that they also clearly mentioned the process by which the limitation may be lifted. I argued a lot, but without any result. After writing a few emails I finally understood that I was only delaying the process. So I submitted the things they asked for and the limitation was lifted within 24 hours. Since then I am having no problems with Paypal. Thanks.
God bless you.

biswa, I do keep a little money there and was going to set a goal of saving a bit more. As I find that maybe this way I can actually save some money.
I did not know that PayPal can actually freeze and or block your account. Can you tell some reasons why they would do this as then I would rethink my reasoning for trying to keep any money over there..
Thanks in advance my dear friend.

I had to submit one proof of residence and one photo ID. So I submitted scanned copies of my voter id and passport. There is an option to submit your credit card transaction bill too, but then I didn't have a credit card. So I chose the other options.

That was very bad. I have ever heard about paypal account freezing or blocked by paypal. I don't know why did it happen.
I didn't get my account blocked but my friend did. His account was blocked. It has been happened almost a year and he was not able to solve the problem that he couldn't understand. He gave up and planned to open a new account. I don't know whether he has got the new one or not yet.
I took lessons from experience of my friend. I won't let much money in my paypal account. If someday something happen and my account blocked, I won't lose much money. Leave your money in the account in amount you can afford to lose.
