Athletes like olympic sprinters, runners, swimmers and players of various sports should not be paid because it their duty to represent their nation on an international sporting event. Besides these athletes will get tons of money for being ambassadors of various brands and corporate stuff like that. I think that sporting should not have to be paid. Instead an athlete should be glorified by his nation and the media. Do you agree?

Well, if you don't realize it, they will not get to the Olympics if they are poor or have no funds to get there in the first place. Besides, if you don't support your athletes financially then why participate? I disagree with you. There are so many remarkable athletes whose talents don't get to their full potential because they lack funds.

Would you work for me in the name of your country for free?

hmm good point, but in my country, funds are awarded by the government to ALL students interested in sports in a way that everyone MUST train at a sport. It is called CCA and it allows everyone, regardless of poor and the rich to train at one sport, it also promotes physical fitness. And with fame comes money. So if an athlete trains as hard enough and makes it there, then he/she won't have to worry about funds. and i do not see what you mean by lacking funds. I mean are you talking about professional coaching and equipment? Well, that is sponsored by the government. All an athlete has to do is train and perform his/her best

hi apple I also disagree as there are many people from poorer countries who scraped and scrunched to get the money to get to the Olympics thy should be paid. I would not work for nothing even if it was to glorify the u S I am not well to do.So lets help our Olympic people who do so much to promote sports in our country and other countries as well.
