hi rberon great discusson. I think thats really poetic and yes love is sort of like a rain. Sometimes in my own life the low between us was a gentle comforting flow like being in your favorite well worn soft cozy recliner. then again I had complained about a muscle knot in my shoulder from paging a lot of heavy books in the library. So my husband quickly started massaging my shoulder muscles and from there on well things got hot as clothes were tossed on the floor by both of us and love did rage fast.lol lol lol Our first born followed nine months later.

I totally agree! Loves falls down on you like rain and you never can predict when it will fall or how long it will last. It could be just a shower, a sudden rush and then it disappears. Or it could be a steady rain. The type that lasts for a very long time.

Love is a madness and those in love have compared it to whatever their condition is at that moment..some compare it to fire...some to a bird.... A very good quote by my friend.. 'love is like a bird...if u hold it too tight it will die and if u hold it too loose then it will fly'.... still wondering how to hold the bird...

Though I would never have thought of making the analogy of rain to love, I think that is a beautiful quotation. I think that you know when there is true love and an example of that is the moment that you become a parent, the love floods over you so quickly that you really don't know what has happened. However, with most other forms of love, I think they are more likely to slowly pour over you such that the love grows.

yes,not all the time that you are happy..sometimes, specialy when you will encounter obstacles, you get hurt & cry..that was the love's rain but not all rain are sadness in relationship or love somtimes there is what we call a happy rain..thats when both of you suffers the pain but still you have each other to fight fro whatever problems you are facing..

I totally agree love is like a rain. It says the rain itself is like a love shown by the sky to earth. Since sky and earth cannot meet, they meet in this way. What a lovely saying. Love can be felt but can't be stopped.

Love, at least the "romantic" type, is more like a mental illness. Think about it--in the beginning, the infatuation phase, you are obsessed with a person, so much that you can barely think of anything else. You'll do anything for them whether it's max out your credit card or loan them money even if you don't have it. Anything they ask, you'll do. You'll ignore and reject friends and family if they dare to say anything negative about the person you love, cut yourself off from all contact so you can be with them. It's sick and unhealthy. Later on when "love" settles down a bit you're still bound to that person. People have sacrificed their children for the one they love, stolen and committed crimes to keep them happy. When love goes bad, people are hurt. They kill themselves when their lover leaves them for someone else, they pine away wishing they could have them back. Some of the sicker people kill themselves and take their children or family with them. "Romantic" love is a mental illness.

I am not sure I would call it a rain, I would consider love being like hail. Hail comes in different sizes and that is how we feel about a person at different times. At one moment we can be swept up in a persons arms and feel like everything is perfect, while other times we still love a person but we have had a fight we are on the brinks of our hearts being crushed but we fight through it. But it is a special thing as well. Every time the love is small and then grows large again it just strengthens it.

That's true. And it helps things grow but sometimes it can break a lot of houses. It also cools you from the heat but gets you sick too.

Many people ever asked such a question: what is love? I think each one has a different answer.It depends on who and when thinks about this question, even where the love happens. Love is a kind of feeling, changes as time goes by.You can't catch it, control it , and sometiome words are useless for it. So I think the feeling of love being like rain is temporary.what do you think?

I agree with you love can be like rain. It showers our thirst and refreshes the heart. Still it depends on love state. Love could be like the sun, it brings warmth and embraces the soul. Love is like a fire that burns from within. It can also be a flower sweet and gentle tickling our passion. I guess we will be filling all the papers on earth comparing and defining what love is and what it is like. The bottom line of it all is love is everywhere and can be compared to almost anything depending on the stage and state of the love we are into.
