i have been having dry hair lately. primarily because i have been busy going around and our city is so busy, a lot of dusts and smoke from vehicles. i also do a lot of walking that is why i am overly exposed to dusts and dirt. so every time i get home, i really take a shower, shampoo my hair every time and always make sure i am clean before i go to my bed. and in the morning i take a shower again, its like my everyday routine already, shower day and night which i know that is also not so good because for some reason we also need some of that moisture and oils in our body and also natural flora or bacteria of the body.. but lately i noticed that my hair is getting really dry and start to have split ends :( i tried not to shampoo in the morning anymore instead just use conditioner since i have already taken a shower at night and i just go to sleep. i think it got better but it still looks dry and lifeless :( is there any tips you can give me aside from getting a hot oil treatment at the salon which i know isn't really that helpful. maybe you know something natural like something to eat, take etc? thank you :)

You need to switch shampoos because it can cause buildups and can dry your hair. Also use conditioner everytime you shampoo, and then deep condition at least once a week. Or go to the nearest parlor for a hair spa.
Now if the above do not work, you might need to go to a doctor. I read an article in yahoo that dry hair can sometimes be a symptom of a disease such as diabetes or hypothyroidism. So better see a doctor.

You mentioned shampooing your hair, but do you condition it to? Shampooing takes the moisture out of your hair, so you really do need to condition your hair. If you do condition your hair then you may want to try and intensive conditioner that you leave on for 5 to 10 minutes, I use a Tresemme Thermal Recovery product, it comes in a tub rather than a bottle like the shampoo/conditioner products.
It sounds as though you don't like washing your hair everyday, so to prevent dryness try a leave in conditioner and it will help protect your hair against the dust and dirt.
I have also heard that mayonnaise, eggs and oil are good for conditioning your hair, but I have never tried this "natural" treatments, so I cannot so how good they are myself.

Yeah sometimes i would forget to condition or if i dont forget, i dont have much time :( ooooooh okay Elixiress thank you so much, i will try all these tips :) i have just been too busy that i dont have time to think what is good for my hair. and maybe because i have also been stressed, maybe that causes that too.
i dont like leave on conditioners because they feel heavy but maybe i should also find something god at the stores and try your advice :)
yeah i have tried mayonnaise when i was in high school, it really is a great conditioner :) but when you mentioned it, it put a smile on my face because of the experience, hehehe, i smelled like mayonnaise or a sandwich all day long no matter how many times a shampooed/washed my hair. it was a nice experience though... for my hair hehehe :) but yeah i will have to find time to take care of myself and somehow pamper myself. thank you again to you Elixiress :)
