I love and enjoy looking at the stars and moon at night. I bet there are a lot people who use telescopes to look at them. I see no section in Mylot for Stargazing unless I missed it. Please tell you greatest story gazing at the stars and what you enjoy about them. Is there better season to watch them are all the season a good time?
Thanks and have a great night!

Yes, I know what you mean when the clouds passes the moon. It's like what I see in movies or in tv shows. It's beautiful.

Sometimes on clear cold nights the stars are so beautiful and close looking. When there is no interest, add it as your interest. Start a discussion, just like you have here. Others will join your interest because if they answer your discussion the site will ask them if they want you to add that interest.

Hello GardenGerty,
Wow I just realised you are at ten on stars here for Mylot. Congratulations on reaching that mild stone at Mylot. I am still hoping to reach that sometime soon. yes, the stars are so wonderful on clear crisp nights and weather is so cold. It has to be fun for a lot people and if you have a telescope ohhh that much better too. Staying up late is hard but it well worth the time.
Thanks for the reply and have a great night. Thanks for the tips about my interest.

Absolutely unique;
It is quite a spectacle around here. We are full members of the local astronomy club too. Some are better than others and membership has it's benefits, even if you don't have a telescope! There are many knowledgeable members, frequent meetings and stargazing parties. The stargazing parties are a blast as some people have humongous telescopes that can really capture different solar systems, planets and such. Fascinating to say the least.
We have a fair sized telescope that does earn it's ewes and awes when stargazing.
Although it is not exactly a super deep space telescope, which are absolutely astonishing!
I did some poking around here on MyLot and found that there is actually an interest called "astronomy".
Take a look here:
http://www.mylot.com/w/lists/13_18666/default.aspx
The last stargazing party I went to, I was able to see the moon shadows of Jupiter.
Very Cool!
What I like most about checking out the skies is the fact that there is more to us here on earth than most realize. There is so much to learn. I love to watch documentaries on the television concerning space and the stars.
Nasa is an awesome site to hang out at as well.
I am not sure if there is a better season than others to catch a glimpse of other solar systems, nebula's, certain stars etc. I know for myself that I fall short as an astronomer because I can not tolerate the cold. I am pretty much non existent at any stargazing events outside the summer months.
My biggest interest in stargazing is astro photography.
An amazing subject. Thank you for the discussion. Cheers!

My boyfriend and I live across the street from a park. Weather permitting we go there often at night to sit and view the sky. We do not have a preference as he is really busy person, so every chance we get we like to sit there and gaze. We find it as a great bonding moment as we both enjoy site seeing and enjoying the outdoors.

hello hardworkinggurl,
Yes, the parks are wonderful places to watch the stars with telescopes and the moon. A lot less light noise too and see the stype of stars and big dipper and small dipper and seeing Venus or Mars the planets too so close to the moon. What is your favorite planet? Mine is Venus. Thanks for the reply and have a great night.

Hello unique16! I love watching stars at night as well. I especially look for wishing stars! I have been stargazing when I was still a kid but lately, I no longer do, it happens that the place I live now always cover the sky.

hello frenzylady,
Thank you for the reply. I know what you mean. It is so cool looking at the stars and the moon at night and the metoer showers that may happen on the East coast on December 14, 2010. I loved it as child too and wish my daughters had a interest but they do not.
Have a great night

I think we could make one? LOL, I enjoy moon and star gazing too...I don't know much about which season its best to look at them since I'm from a tropical country and I could see the stars and the moon every night if the sky is clear, and I gazing at them while I'm floating in the sea(I lived next to the sea, growing up)...Sadly, I can't see them clearly here in the city and I always look forward going home to my province so I could go night swimming with friends and gaze at the wonders of the sky^^

Hello marapplestiffy,
That is a cool place the water or the ocean and in a boat and feel it rocking you to sleep while gazing at the stars. This has to be ultimate place to watch them and how some are brighter and closer than other. It is funny I just heard on the radio scientist have under estimated the amount of stars it like they are saying there are trillion stars out there how about infinite amount of stars. I do not think anyone can count all them out there or find all of them? Do agree?
Thanks for the reply and have a great night.

Hi! I love looking at the night sky! The night sky is the most beautiful creation that I've ever seen in my life. I love looking at the stars, the dark sky, the moon. It's so magical! It's so mysterious to me, like it's hiding something from me, something magical! But it's so romantic to look at it with someone special. I dream of being with the one I love looking at the night sky, haven't happened yet but it will come true soon.

Yes, I do enjoy looking at the stars and the moon at night. I always have, ever since I was a small child. In fact, I like to take snap shots of them with my cameraphone.

I love looking at the stars and the moon, although I go to school in NYC, so I can't really see any stars while I'm at school. I think I've seen maybe three or four stars from Manhattan. My parents live in Virginia, so it's much easier to see stars from there. It's one of the reasons I love camping is to look at the stars. :)

AS far as I am concerned, I think I usually enjoy to stay at home alone with my computer on. I seldom just go outside to enjoy the stars and the moon at night. But sometimes I will do. When I feel so annoyed or have nothing to do. Then I may just go outside to look up into the sky to see the stars and moon. This may be a way for me to anjoy another style of my life.

yeah, I love sighting moon and stars at night. Good moon seeing is during full moon, the bright of the sky produces from moonlight can make memories while stargazing is during new moon which have fair weather. We can seclude the bright blinking light of the stars and the steady light of the planet.

It is very enjoy to star at the Moon and the stars especially during a clear night.
This is the good period to enjoy the nice view.
A couple whispers to each other under the stars and moon is really an romantic period.
for me, i do not dare to star at the moon because the light from the moon can hurt your eyesight.

Hello unique16!
Stargazing is really great,I used to do it very often when I was a kid. It was my dream to travel to space and see trillions of stars around me!lol
I especially love it when I see a shooting star, I fell like I can wish whatever I want and it's possible to make it come true.
Nowadays, I rarely get the chance to lookup the sky at night, I really miss it. But whenever I come home I take a couple of seconds to gaze the at the sky and that way I feel so relaxed.
Well for me, stargazing is best during the cold months, I don't know it just feel a lot special for me.
