Do you pray God for favors.......?

Many of pray God..some many times a day, some once in a day, some others once in a week ande many once in a while.What it may be we do praqy God.In my opinion prayer is nothing but praising the glory of God.In doing so we enjoy and get peace of mind.I have observed that many people while praying God seek some personal favors.There is nothing wrong in that.Whom else can we ask favos except God.He is there to shower favors and fulfill our desires.There is no doubt about it.My doubt is whether is it necessary to seek favors from
God who is all pervading and all powerful.A favor which seek from God may not be really good for us.I feel that as God knows which is good or bad for us I leave it to Him to do whatever is good to me.More over God may be willing to do more good than what we ask for.Then why should we limit His grace by seeking small favors.What do you say..?

I pray almost every day. I usually pray to praise Him but I also ask favors. Of course, He knows a lot better what if good for us, but I think it gives us an extra power if we feel that God is with us and helps us in our day by day life.
So I think it is also good to pray for praising Him and it is also good to pray to ask for His help.

It is wonderful that you pray daily.I find that very few people pray daily.You also admit that He knows what is good for yo.Then why should you ask Him small favors.You do not know what special favors He wants to shower on you as you worship and pray Him daily.He may be prepared to give you more than what you ask.In that case why should you ask small favors and limit His Grace.Do you undersatand what I say..?

Because I feel the need to ask for help and I need somebody to give me strength. I know that he will give what I need, but I feel that it is good for me to ask Him. Like a type of assurance and practicing my faith...

If not God from whom else can we seek help or favor for free.All we have to do is pray and nothing else.In return what favor can we do to Him except praising His glory and grace...

We are son of God. By default, we have all the power which relate to God. But prayer with meditation is always necessary, then you can understand who you are and what tremendous power you have according to Hinduism.

Please excuse me.I am not able to unerstand what you say?Here we are concerned whether you ask any favors from God when you pray. Meditation and getting power are different things about which we are not discussing here.Some ask favors from God while offering prayers. He or she may belong to any religion.It does not matter.Please tell us whether you seek favors from God while worshipping Him

I think you are correct…praying to God just to ask something does seem a very selfish thing to do. Since we have so little control over most things happening around us, its best to leave it to God. We should just do our prayers regularly and in all sincerity and keep faith

of course we pray for favors, but for my believed, pray is for feel of thankful to the God. Because God has give us many grace, then we must thanks to him by pray for God everyday, and in Islam it called "shalat". Shalat have the other advantage too, it can prevent badness, it's told on AL-Quran surah 29: the spider, verse: 45.
"Recite that which has been revealed to you of the Book and keep up prayer; surely prayer keeps (one) away from indecency and evil, and certainly the remembrance of Allah is the greatest , and Allah knows what you do".

don't afraid to ask the favors, because only to him we can ask it.

As you have correctly said God has given us all and in return we have to thank Him.For favors and help also whom else can we ask except God for free.He is all merciful and He knows what we want and what is good for us.Let us all pray and pray...

Hi there! I pray to God not just to thank Him, ask for His precious help, adore Him, say sorry for all the wrong that ive done and I also do ask favors from Him. I admit to myself even before that im only a human being and I can't do anything in so many areas of my life. In many instances, what Ive needed is a Divine intervention that could only come from Him, I think, there's no bad thing about this because it only means to show that I believe strongly in His power and I fully trust Him to do miracle things in my life. God is everything to me, and im so happy having this very special relationship with Him. He's been a friend ever since and I intend to keep Him in my heart forever. Have a nice day!

God is friend philosopher and guide according.You are right.He is our creator and protector and what not.He is everything.He is all merciful and ready to forgive any one who prays.When you are under His grace one you can live a happy life.From what you say it appears you are under His constant care.You are lucky.May
