TSA continues to harrass travellers in this rather extreme account. A young mother does not want her pumped breast milk exposed to xray radiation. That is a reasonable request, especially when you learn that she has done her homework and knows that TSA guidelies alllow for what she is asking.
She makes this request of the TSA agent and if you watch the video you will see what happened to her. The Phoenix airport has a kind of modern-day stockade which is a glass holding cell that is exposed to all the other passengers.
This is just another example of government control going to far. This also nicely demonstrates that when employees let the power go to their head, they ignore the written guidance and engage in behaviour that would not be acceptable to most people.
How can TSA be removed or brought down?

It would have to be something drastic such a terrorist getting through (slipping equipment separately that could be made into weapons or chemicals that separately could be made into an explosive) or someone who has been patted down and is a bit unstable dropping through the airport window, to get their attention. Or a whole lot of people screaming, carrying signs.
But then I am a writer and have a good imagination - even though that would not be out of the possibility.
I do not think that they should wait until years later, when there is a rise in cancer rates and maybe unusual levels of leukemia in the children born of those pregnant women who were forced to go through the scanners.
Maybe if one of the privileged few go through the scanners and pat downs because their private plane was not available and maybe they will listen to those who suggest using dogs.

The only way to stop it is to forbid congress, and the senate to use private planes. If they had to go through the scanners nd pat downs, considering that they fly a lot, they will stop it or rather have that czar who thinks it is no big deal go through it.
And it is against your rights, but I am not surprised. Obama wants to make America a socialist country and unlike what some of those Obama lovers say, he is not a victim.
Maybe he should go through the scanners.

Your probly right...any elected official that flys commerical probly does not have to go through security. Just us little people. Just add that one to the list of things that apply to US and not THEM...like living within a budget, or paying their taxes.

This is not the first time I have heard stories like this one. Face it...if you have small kids or an infant....it is NOT worth it to fly at all.
I hope she sues the heck out of them. And I hope people start boycotting flying until TSA learns some respect for the peope who are flying.
I stopped flying years ago when my son (who is now 7) was a toddler. He got "randomly picked" for additional screening. Which means some stranger got to put his hands all over him. I was not happy with that..my son was freaked out by it. It was just bad all around. Show when a 2 year old has ever been a terrorist?

Along the same lines, then, the phone log and files of every congressmen should be searched on a random basis. There is a very good chance they are involved in illegal activities and it would be a crime against the American people to let them get away with it.

Oh but a 2 year old MIGHT be used to smuggle a bomb so we need to grope them thoroughly. Grandma MIGHT have a plastic explosive in her bra with the underwire as a detonator. We need to violate everyone's 4th amendment rights because of what someone MIGHT do. If we used the logic of the TSA nationwide, police would have free reign to search every truck on the road for bombs because McVeigh used a truck.

Heck anything MIGHT happen...so under that logic we have should have no rights at all at any time because of what MIGHT happen if we are allowed to have them and exercise them.
Wow...scarey. We are now guilty until proven innocent. Some where there are terrorist laughing at their ability to take away our rights without having to take over our government. They scare us...the government takes away our rights and we fall all over ourselves to let them take them because of what "might" happen.
Heck I MIGHT get hit by a car someday...so should I never leave my house again? Or should I outlaw cars so one can never hit me? No one gets to drive now because I MIGHT get hit by one someday. You know people have been hit by cars in the past..so it COULD happen. It is for our own good. It is for our safety. LOL

I've been saying this (and writing) this for years. I haven't flown since 2001 and the more the procedures become more and more ridiculous, I wonder if I am ever going to fly again in my lifetime.
It takes a lot more time. But the buses and trains are much more sane. At least the last time I used them.

I had a similar experience with my daughter in 2004. And that was before it got this bad. Someone in Miami airport had smuggled something( I don't know what) in their kids diaper. And they wanted to remove my daughter's diaper. Needless to say I went ape. Now, I have a young son in diapers. And we have only flown once. My hubby was with us on that trip. I don't plan on flying again until he is older. Just not worth it.

Companies get away with bullying because people let them. What needs to happen is a massive airline boycott. When they start crying for customers, then people can go back on their own terms.

But in this case, it is not a company or the airlines. It is TSA, which is totally directed by the government. This is the same government that is consumed with political correctness and cannot even manage to find a known terrorist guilty.
I agree that it will be up to the people to make a change, and that is why they backed down over Thanksgiving.

Yes, but believe me, a massive all out boycott of the airlines will prompt them to in turn bully the government into backing off.

It's hard to believe this kind of gross violation of constitutional and basic human rights is going on every day in America. The more I see about the TSA and the absolutely horrible way they treat people, the madder I get.
I simply can't fly anymore. I can't go into an airport and subject myself to that kind of treatment. I'd end up in jail because I would fight back. I also tend to treat people just as they treat me, so they wouldn't like me very much.
One thing that really struck me about this incident too is the big glass box they put you in if you "act up". They put you in a "time out" box in full view of everyone. This is our government in action - holding someone up to public ridicule and embarrassment for DARING to stand up for one's rights.
I'll make sure I NEVER set foot in Phoenix airport as long as I live. As a matter of fact, I'll just steer clear of the city of Phoenix completely. I used to fly several times a year. Not anymore! The airlines don't get one more dime of my money. That's what we need to do to protest this, quit flying. If everyone did, how long do you think they would have these TSA idiots doing what they're doing?

Your exactly right. If people boycott they will change the rules. They don't want to end up bankrupt. Of course the government would bail them out...but they would still change the rules. But as long as put up with it they will do it. So far people are only grumbling about it but putting up with it...so it won't change.
Personally I won't fly again til they change the rules. I am not subjected myself to that kind of treatment.

The first thing I thought when I saw the glass box was "time out". You know when your kids behave badly so you put them in the corner for time out. So now the TSA are treating grown adults like children. Dare to not follow their rules exactly and you earn yourself a time out. bad girl...bad bad girl...go stand in time out.
