Do like watching foreign movies? I watched the Chinese movie "Aftershock" last night and it is the only movie I ever cried out loud. I couldn't help myself. It is based on a true story about the earthquake that ravage a town in China. It is all about family, the Chinese culture and even with the subtitle I endured reading all throughout the flick, I can honestly say that it is a heart-wrenching, beautiful and incredibly made movie. I do not want to put a spoiler here as it is a "must watch movie." Anyways, my other question is, do you recommend any other "must watch" foreign movies?

The Butterfly from Spain had me sobbing. It is about a seven year old boy who befriends an old man who is his teacher at the time of it's civil war. The Boy in the Striped Pajamas is another one about a boy befriending another boy in a Nazi concentration camp. The climaxes of both movies expresses the horrors of what silly stupid adults do and the effect on children.

Sounds interesting, does it have sub-title? I will look for this movie. Thanks!

The Butterfly was subtitled, and I don't remember if The Boy in the Striped Pajamas was in English or German. I'm pretty sure if it was in German that it would have been subtitled.

I'm not that much of a cryer but i'm a fan of animation movies. I know you know those pixar and disney animations and they're great. However, i recommend you watch 'big buck bunny' and 'sintel'. They're animation shorts with great stories. Visit my website. You'll find them there.
