theoretically and constructively, this word is defined by Merriam Webster as 'a person experienced int the art or science of government; engaged in conducting the business of a government. but sometimes, this word is quite confusing that is why there is always an irony of how it is defined. let us start with its etymology. it is the science of government as modeled on Aristotle's "la politika" means 'affairs of state' the name of his book on governing and governments. on the other hand, it could be a combination of the words, "poli" a Latin word meaning 'many' and "tics" meaning 'bloodsucking creatures', which can be mean 'men that are bloodsucking creatures'. as defined above, 'one actively engaged in conducting the business of the government'. this triggers us to clarify either 'conducting the business of a government or conducting business in the government'. some of them are so convenient and convinced in calling themselves as public servants, but simply knows them as the most influential, powerful, and sometimes arrogant people of the state. for them to hold a political position, they would mountains or even cross the wildest river. they may look better if not the best, act to be generous, compassionate or even dedicated to serve, blackmail one's opponent, or even buy votes. and of course, most if not all of them, will make promises. some of them would keep their promises but unfortunately, many would only keep their promises - keeping their promises only to themselves. in result, some of them are confused in handling and in the dealings with regards to their position either manager or a leader, powerful or responsible, being requested or obliged, and privileged or accountable. yet, some of them cannot differentiate a government from governance. in general, most of us know what a politician is and how they works. but we cannot simply and straightly define a politician. the simple definition this word clearly depends from the performance shown by the people representing this word. for what it has been and what it has used. for you,how would you define a word politician?
