Did anyone else think that grown ups just was not funny? I was expecting so much more, and I really did not think it was funny at all.

I think it had a lot of potential. I actually just rented it on RedBOX.. AND i FELL asleep about halfway through I think. But it didn't really have a VERY good storyline. And I love Adam Sandler (more of his oldschool stuff.. IE Happy Gilmore is one of my favorite movies!!) but it didn't really have a lot of good, funny humor like that. And I think the writing was kind of poor as well as the plot..They could have done better. But this is what's happening to comedy these days I guess!

My boyfriend fell asleep as well, and he says he will never watch another Adam Sandler movie after Mr. Deeds...

In a way I agree w/the above poster, what would have worked on SNL in the 90s doesn't cut it in 2010. The movie was a little predictable but I think it would have had a little more chemistry with anyone but Kevin James. I know Chris Farley is no longer with us (RIP) but he's the only person I think could have played the "adorable big guy". Horatio Sanz probably lost his weight by the time they went into production.

I'm not into those super groups of comedians anymore. They were funny in their prime but to pretend they were geeky then and funny now, I just don't buy it. I'd rather watch their old movies and laugh. I know that some people have found group comedies funny but most of those people don't know the history that made them funny.
