Have you had sore eyes before? Sore eyes is epidemic in our place and it is contagious. Little kids have sore eyes only for about 3-4 days while adults take them longer to heal. Even if I have sore eyes now, I am still participating here to earn even just a cent :)
My question is: What is the best way to treat sore eyes?
Thanks for your replies, I know I will get something from here to be of help.

hello there i have never experienced having that but i know some remedy to treat it. first is you wash your hands ALL THE TIME, like every contact with a family member and even other things since the bacteria is everywhere in the house. wash your eyes to with clean running water and slowly remove with your cleans hands/fingers all those dirt and secretions from your eyes. then you drop some meds like tobramycin, it is what cured my other members of the family, they were cured after 2-3 days and my nephew was cured over night. well we know the bacteria is still there but at least they are already disappearing, and also try this very practical and well not so easy trick, force yourself to cry. no chemicals and is very safe. tears help wash your eyes and remove all those foreign materials that have entered your eyes. i hope all these can help you. good luck. oh and if you dont trust the antibiotic eye drops i recommended it is okay, you can always ask your doctor or even pharmacists about it, but yeah try forcing yourself to cry. :)

Thanks so much for your reply. I think kids really can be cured from sore eyes in 3 days unlike adults that sometimes it takes a week or more to be cured. I use water and wash my eyes often.
Again, thanks and nice day to you!

Oh yes! my whole family was infected two months ago. It all stared with my grade school daughter, who got it from her classmates, and no matter how we tried to contain the virus, still we all got infected including my 8 months baby. True, kids heal faster than adults. My daughters sore eyes were healed 3 days after while our baby was healed after a day only! My husband and I (especially me!) took more than a week to heal! It was my first time to have such virus and it was really terrible! since its viral no antibiotics can kill it, only your immune system and good hygiene, but still our doctor told us to use the chloramphenicol eye drops just to prevent further infection. So I suggest you use this eye drop, my baby's pedia also suggested this eye drop for my baby and it really helped. Hope you'll get over that virus soon. By the way only my right eye got infected, what i did was as soon as it got infected i covered it with gauze so as not to spread the virus to my other eye. Always wash your hands and avoid rubbing and touching your eyes to prevent it from spreading.

I always wash my hands after using eye drops or wiping my eyes because of fear that someone might get infected. Almost all people here in our building are infected and this virus is really fast spreading.
Thanks for the response, the advice, and for sharing your experience on sore eyes.

Hello this was here in my state in india, 10 years ago, it was due to some virus, too much infectious, i got it from a copassenger in a bus, we sat in the same sit from 9pm till 5am, when i got down, my eyes were totally red, i felt as if somebody put sand in to them, i met the doctors, they said it was viral, so no medicine will work, if i like they give some eye drops.
My wife applied pure rose water on the eyes , i got relief in 2 days.
Thank you so much for this discussion.

Thanks! I only go out if there is no one to do what is needed to be done outside, but yes, I don't want to be the reason someone will catch the virus from me so I stay home as much as possible

A big ouch! I think I can't do that although I know it will help. Thanks, emahinay, for the response. I might consider calamansi if this sore eyes won't go away in a day or two.

Sore eyes is not that difficult to cure. The best thing to do is to always wash your hands before touching anything especially to your eyes to avoid transmitting the virus to others. What is usually use to cure my sore eye is Maxitrol, it is an eye drop.I hope this will help you cure your sore eyes
