ebay.ca has a countdown ticker and reminds me each day (in big red numbers) that there are only 22 days til Christmas (at least there are today). PLEASE DONT REMIND ME!! i have SO much to do before now and then! i have gifts to finish making, cards to mail out, presents to buy, presents to wrap...the list seems endless! is anyone else stressed out with Christmas?

Nah, not me. I don't stress over Christmas... ever. What I get done, I get done. I'm only human and I'm only one person. No one I know expects more out of me than they expect from themselves so they're all understanding. If I'm making a gift and it's not finished, I'll wrap a photo of whatever it is that I'm making and give that to the person on Christmas day, with the promise that it will be finished approximately [whenever]. I kinda think that people like this even more because it's almost like getting two gifts... the promise of it and then the actual gift. My husband has been especially mean lately and has hurt my feelings quite a bit, more than normal. I was just getting into the Christmas spirit, after having had spine surgery three months ago, when he said something hurtful and blew that spirit right out of me so I won't be doing much for Christmas this year. I was working on gifts and decorations but have put the decorations aside for this year. I'll still finish the gifts because I like making other people happy and I'll probably cook Christmas dinner but that's all... I don't even want a tree this year. (I've decided that I will be leaving my husband this Spring. I've done all I could to hold this marriage together but he's putting nothing into it and I'm tired of it now. It's okay, though. His loss, not mine!)

Of course I am answering this 9 months after you wrote it but Christmas is just a few months away now. Christmas stresses me out every year. It is going to be even more stressful this year since my husband does not have a job. We had a Christmas account started, but we had to use it up to pay our property taxes. So even if he gets a job it is going to be hard to come up with money for Christmas. I am normally stressed as it is with the Christmas account and now I will have to do Christmas with out it. I don't even want to think about it.

Despite the fact that I am done with my Christmas shopping (as of today) I still do feel stressed out with things that I need to get done in order to be ready for Christmas. I've got cookies to bake and pictures to take. I've got a Christmas tree to get put up and decorated. Then there are the fun things that I want to do with the kids between now and Christmas like taking them to visit Santa Claus that we haven't yet gotten done either.

Christmas is always stressful for me. Or any spending-holiday for that matter. Specially if I'm the one footing the bills. I also have a lot of things to do still. And even more things that I want to do, that I just can't afford. So in the meantime, I stay clear from websites that show countdowns!

Christmas is wonderful, but busy and tired at the same time. But we may consider what eBay, or the shopping websites thought, and if we felt their reason and initial, less anger will exist. We may take another way to the reminds: what if we find a great deal from the eBay, and in that way, eBay sent us a Christmas gift.
