My dog has had a dry skin condition off and on for about 2 years now. She has been to the vet. She is on medicine. Today I discovered a new "wound" on her. She had apparently licked a portion of one of her hind paws raw. My hubby put ointment on it and we went about her day. But have you ever discovered something on your pet you didn't see before?

Yes, we had a ranch dog with a very heavy coat and one day I saw him scratching it several times. I waited for Hubby to get home, it two of us to catch and handle this dog, when we did we found a deep wound on his back and it was full of maggots.
We got him to the Vet within the hour and he said the dog was very lucky he got maggots, it clean the wound and kept the infection out. The Vet stiched him up and we had no more problem with him. We never did find out what happened, on a ranch there are many ways injury can happen to both animal and human.

Hello ersmommy,
I did discovered something unusual to Binne last week. She started to drool a lot all of a sudden, and when I checked her mouth, I discovered a little wart on her lip. I was quite scared until I talked to the vet. It was nothing to worry, Papilloma Virus it's a commun condition among dogs under the age of two.
About your dog condition, I hope you did some changes in her diet, sometimes a quality, organic dog food with lots of oils like Omega 6 in it can help improving her condition. Have you thought about switching her to a raw food diet?
