Does anyone here have a great recipe for hamburgers? How do you make the patties? Is there anything else you can add to a burger to make it even more delicious?

I have always made my own hamburgers. I use ground meat with little fat content (many times I grind my own meat)salt and pepper, fried diced onion and crushed garlic, an egg and some bread crumbs. After I fry them I can add the extras: tomatos, sweet pepper, hot peppers, red onion rings. They taste completly different from the McDonald thing. I make the patties with my hands and dont like the too tick or too thin (3/4 of an inch). YUMMY!!!

I've once asked the supplier of burgers how he made his burger patties. He told me that he add breadcrumbs to the minced meat.

You can add some dry onion mix and some Worcestershire sauce. Mix it with one pound of hamburger meat. Make sure its lean hamburger because the dry onion mix will absorb with the fat and you won't get the full flavor. You can also mix it with some Bar-B-Cue sauce and that will give it more flavor. I'd like my medium rare, thanks.

Some people think that a lot of ingredients need to be added to hamburger to make hamburgers special. I have always just enjoyed hambugers to plain meat and a few spices. Topping with cheese is the only thing I would add to enjoy my hamburger.
