Today I came across a news in one of the leading newspapers that Mahendra Singh Dhoni is going to receive 26 crores of rupees from Vijay Mallya for advertising for Mallya's products. This I think is not fair.He is overvalued. If we judge players accorinf to recent form then Dhoni is way behind players like Sehwag,Dravid and even Tendulkar.Just being the captain of the Indian team doesn't mean that he can draw such a huge amount from endorsements. The brand value of a cricketer depends upom his performance as well as the performance of the team and maybe Dhoni is reaping the benefits of the success of his team. What do you think?

Dhoni can probably command more today. I think the deal is for five years? (I am not so sure about the period of the contract). Dhoni is the most successful captain that India has had across all formats of the game, he has won tow world cups for us - the Twenty-20 and the limited overs (50 overs) world Cup. His IPL team has won most of the championship cups since the IPL started. It is the captain holds the team together and it is the captain that gets the credit or the discredit- else why should Tendulkar, Dravid, Ganguly, just to name a few of Indian cricket's greats have had to give up the captaincy? Remember the life of skilled performer, be it the stage or the sports field, is generally limited and the ability to draw huge amount of money at an older age is too low, so let Dhoni make hay while the sun shines. Not everyone is an Amitabh Bahchan. No offense intended.

In India people's are mad about cricket. and dhoni is certainly the highly rated cricketer. but this much amount is certainly very big, but how can we just say that its very high amount? its not given by you and me! There are people to give it and dhoni is just having it for the fame now he has.
