I am finding it really hard to get off to sleep and when i get to sleep the pain wakes me up that i get.I went to the drs and while i was there i asked for something that would help me get off to sleep as well as what would keep me asleep. So last night was the first night that i took the sleeping pills, i laid there ages thinking they will be working soon and in the end when they did, the husband told me that i had had to nudge me as it sounded like i was taking my last breath.I must have been sound as that would have woken me up, it worried him as i had strange breathing.

Your reaction may get better with a few days rest. If it does not and it continues to disturb your husband because your breathing is stressed you should talk it over with your doctor.

That is kind of what I was thinking. I think as you get more sleep you will probably have less pain as well.

I think the thing with my breathing is that i was soo tired that i was probably in a real deep sleep for all the lack of sleep that i had been getting over all the weeks.I feel a bit fresher now that i have had some sleep, but i think perhaps tonight i will take the pills earlier, that way i may get even more sleep, lol.

it could be that you have some sleep apnea and need to make sure you don't sleep on your back

you might also talk to your doctor about testing you for sleep apnea

I think the reason for it todo with the breathing is that it maybe due to all the lack of sleep that i have been having due to being in pain at night.I think that getting a good nights sleep is what i have been missing out in a very long time, so my body is now catching up on it.I try to sleep on my side as other wise i end up coughing when laying down.

Tell the doctor. Maybe there is another pill you can take. No pill should change your breathing!

I think what it probably was is the fact that i was catching up on all the sleep that i had not been getting and it may have put me into a real deep sleep.I do feel a bit fresher since i have had a bit of a good bout of sleep.

No no not the pills? That would just add up to some other problems... I don't know what will be the best for you, because everybody's different, but then if you ask me, I would say that doing something that really bores you help sometimes... like me, if I find it really hard to sleep, then Imma get myself something to read and I would definitely fall asleep minutes after the reading started.. for some it can be watching TV late at night, counting numbers, it could be anything.. give it a try!! I wish the best for you ^^

I think it is better for you to drink a warm cow milk before you sleep. After warming the cow milk, the chemical inside the milk will change. I can not recall the name of this chemical which can help you to fall asleep. During the day time, you are not advise to drink tea, coffee and pop drinks. All of these drinks contain caffeine which will make you awake. If you can not sleep because of your sickness with pain, I don't think the above are helpful to you. Anyhow, before you consume any sleeping pills and pain killer pills, I advise you to consult and to be examined by a professional doctor first. For me, I shall consume the pills which are prescribed by the qualified doctors only.

I tried having a warm bath a hot cup of drink and that did not help one bit.I have not been able to have a good nights sleep in ages and i have now that i had just one of those pills that the dr gave me.I think that if you have a problem getting off to sleep as well as keep waking up in pain then in the end that can make you feel ill as well as be ill.

I sympathize with you. I don't think sleeping pills are good for people but I'd certainly love to have some! I'm so sick of and exhausted by being awakened several times every night with pain in my bones or cramps in my legs or aches in my back. Call your doctor and tell him your husband's concerns. He may want to change your medication or reduce the strength.

At the moment i am giving them a try as i am in pain all the time and even with the pain killers it is not helping me trying to get to sleep as a small movement to my feet/toes hurts so much, when i get to sleep i still wake up with the pain.I had a great nights sleep after i at last got off to sleep, but when i woke up the tired feeling was still there along with the pain as usual.

A few years ago my husband was having a lot of problems sleeping at night and they started him off on one medication to help him sleep and it wasn't doing anything to help him sleep. So, they gave him another medication and he didn't think that would really do anything for him either, but it did. When I got home that evening, he was pretty much knocked out, he was staggering through the house because the medication had him that messed up.

Take care hen sleeping pills or any kind of pain killers to help you sleep. you can quickly become addicted to taking them. That could give you a far different problem than loss of sleep.

The dr told me to have four nights on the sleeping pills as well as then have two nights off them to see how i feel. The pain killers they have got more strength to these ones as the other ones just did not help.Lets hope if i can get a few nights of sleep perhaps that will also help me.

I never take the sleeping pills as people say you would be addicted once you take it. I will try to listen to the gentle music to fall asleep. Try to give yourself the hint that you are tired and want to fall asleep. Or listening to the dull and repeat sound would be helpful for your sleeping.

I've had people tell me that not only do I snore, I breathe and stop...and breathe and stop. I think I sleep pretty well even with all the stuff I do when I'm sleeping. I'd keep trying the sleeping pills, but if it continues to be a problem (for you husband), I'd talk to my doctor.

I think the problem was that seems i had not had hardly any sleep for weeks then with the pills help it helped me sleep and made my sleep a deep sleep and perhaps that is why my breathing sounded strange to the husband.I am having the pills for four nights then having two nights off them then i get to take them that that for as long as i need to.

hello there, Actually, being insomniac or sleepless is a manifestation of depression. It is the state of anxiety. Most people suffer from this disorder and don't know how to manage it. And like you, your last recourse is to take sleeping pills to put you to sleep. It would be useful for times but it would not be good for you health since you won't get to sleep without it. I guess you have to give yourself a break. When you are consumed by the worries about things your are facing at home or at work, you must find some time to breathe. In my case, I do have the same problem. I don't advice you to the same thing but it is very effective for me. at times, I would go out and spend some time for a drink and listen to live bands before going to sleep. I don't do it everyday but I do it very often. Relaxation is a key to get a good sleep. Do not sleep over your worries. You may develop a positive thought that you still have tomorrow to think of a better solution to resolve whatever is bothering you. I hope this would help you somehow.

It is pain that stops me from getting to sleep to begin with and then it is the pain that wakes me up when i am asleep. The sleeping pills that i have been given i can take for rour nights then have two nights where i do not take them, then so on, this way my body should not rely on them.I hope to get another great nights sleep again tonight.

I also have a tendency towards insomnia mostly from the medication that I am now taking. I saw online that many people get insomnia from it. It's weird because sometimes it makes me sleepy and other times it keeps me awake. I take Lunesta, but sometimes I get sleepy the next day during the day and I think it's because of it. Then I have to take a nap and then I don't get tired at night. Vicious cycle. I've also taken Ambien before and I have a few Ambien CR, but their really old so I don't think they work as well or the dosage is too low because I will take one and not sleep then another not sleep and finally a Lunesta. I probably shouldn't take so many but the dosages are so low I don't think it's a problem. The breathing is weird. I hope it's not too shallow. Are you going to continue taking them?

I think that it has not helped me much over the years that having to be awake for my son while he do not sleep and so my body did get into a routine of no sleep and then constant pain stopping me from getting off to sleep as well as staying asleep as well. The pills helped me with the sleep that i needed last night and it has made me feel better and more refreshed, i will be taking another one tonight.

Hey Dont use pain killers & sleeping pills everytime. They are hazardous to health. You try to discuss regarding your issue with the doctor for better solution rather than this.

This is the way the dr told me to try, as i am soo physically drained and the pain is there consantly, i thought i would give it ago and it worked, however i still felt tired when i woke up, but i feel a bit better in myself i knew the pain would still be there no matter what.

I know how you feel. Pain is what makes me get out of bed when I would love to sleep a few more hours and can't. I have never tried sleeping pills. I have tried things like ny-quil when sick-just keeps me awake so I don't take those types of things anymore.

What's happening to u? WHy would u need painkiller and sleeping pills? If possible, dun eat too much of pain killers because it does not do your heart any good. I had my first try of pain killer in my life, and i really regret taking it. Ever since taking it, i notice strange changes within my body, especially my breathing. Luckily my problem is not as serious as yours because i dun breath that hard while sleeping

I would give the pills some time. Maybe you are just sleeping deeply and this changes your breathing. I would watch it though. Be glad that your husband is a light sleeper. It takes about two weeks to get regimented to a certain medication. I would see what happens with both of the pain and sleeping pills.

Hello jj, i will advise NOT to take sleeping pills, it is certainly habit forming, soon you will need higher dose too, yes if too stressed you may take, a shower, loose comfortable dress helps in sleeping, mattress are also important.. long back doctor advised me to take alprazolam .25 mg, gradually it was .50 mg.. without this i could not sleep, but after doing breating exercises i could get rid of this.. Thank you so much for sharing. Professor ‘Bhuwan’. . Cheers have a lucky day ahead. God bless you. Welcome always.

Painkillers and sleeping pills? I will not mix the both of them. It's either one for me because it's senseless to eat them both at the same time. WHen i'm feeling pain, painkillers will be good enough for me, once the pain subsides, i will be able to sleep. I prefer painkillers over sleeping pills because sleeping pills can be addictive.
