How to pull traffic to your website?

Hello and Namaste to all the Mylot members here!
Does anyone here know of any real techniques and ways wherein, I can build more traffic to my website...? Here, I would also like to mention that my niche is pretty big....I mean..my website is about INdia..and articles related to Indian food, lifestyle, travel etc....Can anyone here take a look at my portal (humindian.com) and suggest anyways wherein i can improve my traffic?
i currently have only about 50 unique visits per page.. :(

Search Engine Optimization. ;-)
Just gather a lot of backlinks and do keyword research for every article you write so that your articles rank high for keywords with the right balance between traffic and competition. Words like 'india' get a lot of traffic but also an insane amount of competition so words like that are not suitable to rank for.
Also do keyword research for the blog itself, the parts that do not consist of articles.

The best way is through SEO. There's a lot of articles you can read about it. Another thing is visit some sites that is related to your site as well. Comment on their posts make sure not to spam. You can also visit some forums and market your website there.
