The Hadal zone

Hi fellow myLotters!
The hadal zone is the deepest area of the ocean, from 6,000 m (20,000 feet) deep to the very bottom. Sunlight doesn't reach it, and some of the strangest looking sea creatures live there: fish with enormous eyes, bioluminiscent jellyfish, giant squids...
I'm personally fascinated by it; some of the animals that live so deep below just look out of this world! It's really interesting to read about how they manage to survive in such an environment. I also think it's interesting that we know more about space than we do about our oceans, so to speak... I wonder what other secrets we'll discover :)
So, how about you? Had you heard about the hadal zone before? Do you find it interesting?

I have heard of it, and it's absolutely stunningly fascinating. there are some truly amazing creatures.
there was a documentary series called Blue Planet, and it was about the oceans, some of it covered the hadal zone, and it's probably my favourite thing in any nature programme covering things in the sea, because there really are things you couldn't make up.
