Sachin should be dropped to No:3, & Shewag-Gambhir should open in ODI (WC)

I think Sehwag and Gambhir should open the innings for India in the comming World cup.
Gambhir and viru is in good form, gambhir's timing is superb, gambhir is now scoring runs in good pace.
Gambhir is playing fluently and his shots lokk like a mix of ganguly and dravid.
he is also scoring runs quickly, last match he score the 100 in just 87 balls.
so viru and gauti together, playing good knock in good scoring rate can give a good platform for sachin to score runs in the third position.
the chemistry between viru and gauti is also too good as both of them are from delhi.
I am not saying that sachin is not a good opener, but i feel viru and gambhir would be a better choice under these conditions.As the WC is in indiathese two can use the batting condition effectively.
so Viru and Gauti is the best combination for open for India in coming world cup, and sachin should bat at no:3.

Surely Gambhir is playing very well recently.
he is in good form and gauti and viru play for delhi in ranji also, so they may have good understanding.
but we cant say that gambhir is better than sachin.
but advantage if Gauti is going to open is that:
1.Left and right combination:that will mislead the bowler to bowl at least one loose ball where the batsman can capitalise.
2.The understanding between viru and gauti is very good
But Sachin Tendulkar is the best opening batsman in the world, you cant keep that fact away,he scored his majority of the runs by opening for india,and the experience sachin haves is the biggest asset
so i think this should be left to the captain, he can chhose the openers and he knows well to handle the team.Dhoni will decide the openers for his team.

Sachin has played more cricket than anybody..
He is very well educated about the Grounds in India than anybody else..
He has scored more runs than anyone..
So, he knows better than anyone, it's not like giving the bat to someone to open and bat who has scored a couple of back to back centuries against a team who were beaten lately by Bangladesh..
Sachin should open the innings....

If Sachin wants to open the innings no one can argue on this one as he he is best and the most experienced batsmen in the world cricket now.Also Sachin scored major part of his career runs as an opener.But I would prefer Sachin to be batted at number 3.This will give the Indian team a more stable batting line up.Initially Sehwag and Gambhir can increase the runrate.and then Sachin can stabilize the innings.Also the another problem worrying me about Sachin's opening is that if Sachin got out early the whole team will be under pressure (what we have witnessed in the 2003 world cup final...).

I 100% agreeing with saju john.
He is experienced player,he can bat at any position with his experience.
Viru-gauti will give more run rate and left right combination,so sachin can utilize it and play well at no:3.

The opening batsman to be Virender Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir. Gautam Gambhir has been a constitent player for sometime and he can really play for India very well as seen in the past three matches against Newzealand. Sachin to be played but can be played in the third position. Yes, Sachin can play consistently at no.3 once a platform is made for India.

Actually in the past when Sachi & ganguly were there was left -right combination and a firm consistent Dravid at no:3.
but now the case is different, we can use gauti and viru as openers and fill sachin at no:3, which will boos the team more.
and every batsman may face failure.
sachin has also been out by scorin single digits and duck.
he also has struggled against good bowling, its not the talk.
so if gambhir fails, then sachin can perform, still he get almost 50 overes.

haven't you heard the saying that IF YOU WANNA WIN,GIVE YOUR BEST BATSMEN MORE BALLS TO FACE?
tendulkar has been and still is india's best batsmen.
sehwag is an entertainer.it shows clearly why he scored 21 centuries in first innings but only one century in second innings.
gambhir is emerging.dhoni is not the same anymore.
so whats wrong with sachin opening?
what is need for chemistry between them? are they going to get married?
its not like they haven't got run out before.
if i am right they got run out 5 times.
so it should be sachin & sehwag followed by gambhir

Gambhir plays well at no:1 than at no:3,so he should open.
And the CHEMISTRY between Sehwag and Gauti reflects in their patnership specially when they make running calls(Also there is a LEFT HAND RIGHT HAND COMBINATION).More run out happens when sehwag runs with sachin.
If sachin is good he can play at any position.
i am also a Sachin fan,he is the best batsmen ,I accept it.But I think it will be more good for India when Senwag - Gambhir opens.
It should be Sehwag & Gambhir and then Sachin.

for me sachin and sehwag should open i wc.becuase sachin is very experience player and swhwag is very agressive.gambhir has done well in past at no:3 so i wil pick sachin and sehwag

yup.sachin should bat one down.With his vast experience he can bat at any position.He had batted in that position earlier. Sehwag and Gambhir are batting well.Let they open the innings.Then sachin can make a good platform from their blistering start.Hope he can do his best.
