SK council and members should be in the school. should not be involved in any political arena.. For me SK is not necessary in our government, should be abolished the funds allocated will be added to the barangay. The power and responsibility will be handled by Barangay Captain. This SK is additional expenses of the government which is not necessary... How about you, do you or not necessary of having SK... share with us your opinion... see you around

The intention for establishing the SK was very good since this will molding the young leaders for tomorrow, but as for today this pure intention was gone. Politicians serves this as a breeding ground for the next corrupt leaders of our country, including their very own son or daughter.
I hope this will abolished after this term by the SK officials. I agree with you that this is just an added expenses for the government.

I think so too. The idea behind SK is to mold the youth into future leaders, but these days, it's mostly just some politician's son or daughter running for it. Some teens also only run just so they can get the salary from it. I know this to be true because some of my friends ran for SK for that very reason. I think that SK could be continued, but maybe it could be done as a voluntary work, no salary involved. if they need budget for their projects, then the Baranggay Captain should be the one to ask for funding. But then again, the Captain could have his own hidden agenda with it. It's just so hard to trust politicians these days, even the young aspiring ones.

The principles and theory behind the SK are very good and reasonable - the council is a part of the local government that deals with youth-related issues and representation of the youth as part of the society. However, in recent years it has become a 'spawning and training ground' for aspiring and young people who wish to have a political career, whether they are offspring of older politicians or not. I am torn in the argument you presented since I believe there is still good in SK though it is debatable how much the council was being corrupted by the system. I would like to remain in the ideals of Rizal that youth is still the hope of our nation and those leaders of tomorrow can prosper in this type of social awareness (though it borders on politics than anything else).

Sorry to disagree.I believe that SK is a way to prepare future leaders in handling the country. Its better to start young and be aware of the needs of your constituents. Given the proper motivation and coaching on what to do and a chance to prove themselves , SK council would be a great help in developing our youth. They are the ones who know what the youth needs and what's best for them. Its the duty of every Barangay Council to check and give advice to our SK's for the development of the community. SK is a training ground to be responsible leaders.
