http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K3BswAXZC6s is the url to the video. My dog Silvia is a german shephed/Great Pyrnees/Labrador Mix with a SEVERE case of seperation anxiety. We've tried everything and no training methods work. People do not understand our problem. In the video when Silvia ran into the next room she was barking into the kitchen to eat food off the counter. We get attacked by here and bitten everytime we show any signs of leaving, this is horrible, its such a hassle to leave. The door has gotten BEATEN.. She barks like this the WHOLE TIME we're gone no matter how far we go. She barks even if we got shopping and acts like this. She jumps way up at my mom's head, We DO NOT give her attention before we leave or when come back. This is so Hopeless.

I don't know if it will help but I always taught my dogs the meaning of "I'll be back". I would say I'll be back and leave the room and close the door. In 30 seconds I'd pop back in and say "I'm Back!!" and give him or her a hug. Longer intervals over the space of a week and soon I would be going out for a couple of hours and they knew I would be back. I didn't watch the video, I can't bear to watch animals in pain or upset. But it sounds as if the dog is controlling YOU, not the other way around. What about obedience training? That works for most dogs and many pet stores have classes that are cheap. It sounds as if you have just three choices: take it to the animal shelter, euthanize it or train it. I wish you luck.

Why would someone kill their dog over separation anxiety? You'd have to be a nut job to do that. You didn't view my video so how can you even comment?

That was more sarcastic than anything else. You must take control of your dog, he will be a lot happier if you do. I hope things have improved since you first wrote of this problem. I hate to see a dog unhappy!

Hi Java09!. I think your dog not quite different with my dog. He had it too but not until he can bite any one. When we go he will wining and wining, and we come he will jump like crazy if we have not meet in years. I usually just keep silent until he calm down and give his pow to shake my hand.
