First of all what is rapture? Rapture is an event in which the believers is not able to experience any death because of good things done on earth on the sight of God. In bible account there are event mentioned but I don't know if it is rapture or not. In the case of Enoch, he did not experience death instead God took him and in the life of Elijah, God took him without death experience.
What do you think this rapture really true or it is just a doctrine? what are your opinion? Share to us.... see you around

Well yes I believe in the Rapture and think that it is coming in 2 years or so.There has been a lot of the 2012 rumors circulating around on the internet and I think that some of the predictions are backed with scientific evidence even supported by NASA.The prediction that NASA supports is that a solar maximum will take place and cause the power grid to fail and for a large portion of the world to be without power.I hope this does not happen by I will prepare for December 21 2012 like a lot of people are right now. It's better to be save then sorry.

I agree with visavis on this.
However, it is strange that lots of prophecies seem to put the end of the world about now (e.g. I've heard that in Buddhism a sign of the end of the world is men walking on the moon). Also it's obvious that things can't go on roughly as they are for very long. Either technology will keep advancing until it causes huge changes (e.g. nanotechnology making people nearly immortal and making it possible to make pretty well anything from rubbish, cheap space travel, robot servants, have our brains wirelessly connected to the internet etc.) or there will be a huge disaster (possibly caused by technology - we've all seen at least one Terminator movie) that will stop technological advancement. Then there's a strong possibility that there will one or more moderate disasters (I think a huge war between the West and the Islamic world is inevitable) which will cause huge changes but won't stop technological advancement so we'll have changes caused by that as well.
Then you can get into all sort of complicated discussions about what technological advances, wars (with Islam or somebody else), natural disasters or man made disasters (e.g. nuclear accidents) are prophesied in the Bible or elsewhere. Such claims might be correct. I think the problem with trying to fit prophecies round recent or possible future events is that you're not likely to notice allusions to things you don't know about because they're in the distant future or we just don't know about it (for example, we could make contact with intelligent aliens later today, we know nothing about intelligent aliens so we're unlikely to pick up allusions to them in prophecies).

It's interesting however that what sounds like thermal nuclear warfare was described more than 2000 years ago..
"the elements will melt with a fervent heat" - 2 Peter 3:10
and also revelation 6:12-17, described as is over hiroshima and nagasaki and then later at the 'end'/collapse.. and Revelation 13:13, also 1945 (pinpointing an office but not an individual)

Yes my friend visavis,I do beleive in rapture! It is written actually in the bible but I am not sure what book it is. What is written in the bible is the truth so i beleive in it.
I wanted to be included in rapture so I wont feel the pain and tragedies that will happen in the world, our pastor said we should be prepared and follow the teachings written in the bible and do Godly ways for us to be raptured.

There are verses in several books used as evidence that the rapture will happen:
Matthew 24:38-41, Luke 17:27-30 (the problem here is that the analogies used suggest it is the bad people who will be taken), Acts 8:39 (I think this is a stretch as seems to have been something that happened to Philip in New Testament times rather than something that will happen to everybody still alive in the future), Luke, 1 Thessalonians 4:15-17 (this seems to the be main basis for the belief). I think some other verses are also sometimes used.

I don't believe in pre-tribulation rapture because it seems rather a cop-out and I don't find the Biblical arguments convincing. I think there may be a post-tribulation rapture, when the remaining believers are raised up to join Jesus and then fight in his army in the final battle against Satan.

The word 'rapture' is not mentioned in the bible, but the concept is. There are examples of God rescuing His people before judgment. In fact, the Word says, 'As it was in the days of Lot, and in the days of Noah, so shall it be in the coming of the Son of Man.'
I know there's many views concerning this subject - I prefer the scripture. If God says, '...He who now lets will let until He is taken out of the way...' Then, I'll stick with that.

But in the days of Noah, the evil people got swept away by water and the righteous were saved to remain on the earth.

Rapture is really true!
For me it is also called The Final Judgement in the Holy Bible.
It is the day when all people will be reward according to their deeds.
Those people who Trust and Accept God as their King/Lord will be rewarded to enter the Holy City[Heaven] and have Eternal Life.
But feel pity for those who commit sins and disobeyed the commandments given by our GOD and the commandments written in the Holy Bible.
They will get no reward and they will be thrown in the Eternal Fire and darkness where they will cry and gnash their teeth.
So Rapture is really true.
If you want go read the REVELATION page in the Bible.

I think "the rapture" and the "final judgement" are somewhat different things. The rapture is those believers who are living at the time being taken up to heaven. The final judgement is where all people are judged and sent to heaven or hell. People who believe in it (I don't - I'll give my reasons later in this thread if nobody basically says something similar) think that the rapture will take place before the final judgement.
