With all the influences of western country in the form of dance, music, movies and tv shows, do you think we are no longer loyal to our country? What can you say about this?

I'd say Filipinos are natural born nationalists.. ^_^ but with a slight defect.. why so? because since we have been a colony of Spain for over 300 years.. we have adopted some of the negative attitudes that we got from the colonizers like... "colonial mentality" that's just one of the main reasons why we like a lot of IMPORTS.. from hand-me-down (ukay-ukay) clothes, to movies, music or even the secondary language that we speak... but we don't have to worry about that.. it's not getting us dumb or making our lives worst.. in fact Filipino performers around the world or even OFW's make us proud to be who we are... We perform best, it's just that there's too much corruption in our place that's why we tend to escape from admitting that we love our own country... I think we're not only mimicking western culture, we still have our asian blood in us.. More so, we love to mimic even Kpop, Chinese or even Jpop culture as well...

I like to think I'm a patriot rather than a nationalist. Value and cultural wise I will always love my country. This is the country that nurture me, where I met most of my friends. But it doesn't mean I wont be learning from other culture or appreciate their art. The world is getting smaller and territorial boundaries are now being crossed. Who would have thought that Kpop would be a massive hit when most of their artist couldnt speak tagalog or English. We may have different language or skin color and cultural belief but in the end we share a common thing and that is our humanity. I will always support my country and i would assume that most pinoy feel the same but I wont alienate myself from other culture. Its one of our strong point we are a resilient nation but at the same time pliant, we always adapt without losing our identity.
