What's the difference between the dvd and vcd

If you beliefe that you can only view both dvd and vcd on their players then your wrong, you can also view it's contents using a computer. And when I say contents, it's not just the movie show, but the root content, meaning the folders, files inside the folder, data files, etc. All movie shows are files mostly in .avi format. So before it can be played in a dvd or vcd player, it passes first through a computer.
So what's the difference between the two, well, the structure of the dvd can store much more amounts of datas or bytes than the vcd, meaning a dvd can store more than one movie unlike a vcd wheren only one movie is only allowed to be stored or burned.
