hey friends...
well, I am very much frustrated as it seems my life would never be in peace :( I'm a student although I very much started hating this position as being a student due to the difficulties I face from some lecturers who never seem to please the students and would always do harsh stuff like deducting marks if we elaborate more on answering the questions! lecturers who would never tell u exactly what they want no matter how much u keep on asking and begging them to do so!!!
I don't know what should I do? this lecturer gave me a low grade although I am very much sure of my answers!! I wrote her an appeal letter but i'm thinking to email her although I have been advised not to do so...but, I'm very much scared and wondering what should i do??
please help me out :((

I think every student goes through this phase and I accept same for me. I used to get frustated studying Chemistry in my school and pray god to get rid of this subject ASAP. As soon as I got a chance to leave this subject, I did it. Low and high marks are part of study and scoring process so take that positively and do not feel disappointed or frustated, I am sure once you finish your studies and start doing a job, will feel that everything you learnt during school/collage is so useful, you will thank your teacher.
I would also suggest not to write email on this and try to push yourself hard enough to be at the other side.
Thank You for sharing.

be confident, I am sure you will do great in the final semester. Just think about the excitement after you are done with the final exams. You will have all the time to enjoy and go for party after exams are over.
I used to enjoy after exam days like I won some Nobel Prize .
Thank You for sharing.

smiley83,
I am sure your lecturer's action has some justification(s) and it is certainly not to make you negatively frustrated.
You can always take it as a motivation to check with him/her personally, just where you had gone wrong and most of all, motivate you to perform better on the next paper. I mean, what benefits or satisfactions can your lecturer get by getting you miserable or frustrated.
If I were you, I'd approach the lecturer personally and objectively.
Take care.

smiley83,
As long as there's nothing against the rules or your lecturer's practice - then, I suppose it would be alright.
Just that I am not clear about your classmates disagreement of the emailing, so I would advise that you get a clarification first.
Take care and have a great weekend.

yeah that sounds great if i still have courses to take with her!! in fact, I used to do the same...I used to email her and check on her at the office to assure myself with so many stuff...
doing this usual routine had somehow increased my motives and confidence that my result would be so fine without having any doubts on the otherwise!!
But, I'm planning to email her tomorrow as to tell her that i would be meeting her on monday..however, i'm still not sure as to whether or not i'm doing the right thing!!
but, do u think i should email her?

smiley dear,it seems you're always having problems with your studies huh?
never fails! well,i do believe that's always part of being a student. we can't have better professors sometimes who can understand our situations, and i can't understand why professors are like that.instead of making life easier for us,they do tend to make it hard for us to face our studies and it affects our own lives.
i just hope there's something or someone who can help you out in this situation.
is it okay to email her for that? and writing an appeal letter to whom, sugar?
if you do know what attitude your professor has, you'll know what to expect when she gets the email or letter. i just hope she'll understand your side now.
i'll pray for you dearie!

This happen to some of the student or my friend during when I was in the university. Is that just happen on you or some one else? I think sometime there might be discrimination that caused this in some of the local university. What you can do is to discuss or share note with some of your other races and ask them what the lecturer told them, I bet you will get some answer from them. But at first you have to be friend with them or else you will get nothing. This is just my advice if there are discrimination or else, you can just ignore my suggestion.

I hate those kinds of lecturers too! I think you should be ready every time you have a class with this lecturer. I know it's not easy to be ready when your lecturer doesn't get satisfied, but at least try to, right? You'll get over it and you'll finish the course and everything will be better. I enjoy my student life because I love what I'm doing, I love what I'm learning even I encounter problems every week but it's exciting. Just enjoy your student life!

I have never face difficulties in my study life until when I was in Form 4 & Form 5, I develop confusing state of mind when I was in science stream and teachers are fast they never stop so at a point I don't understand but she did not explain it though. But after that my college life at the 1st year is easy. I get my diploma without much effort. But second is difficult. My teachers told other students that I don't pay my fees punctually and my friends treat me like a bad girl. No wonder sometimes teacher is so cruel. But mostly all my life I had good teachers except for the two incidents I mentioned in my post.

Hi smiley: I have experimented so manby times this feeling because there's always a challenge after you finish another. That's life, you'll never be in a total peace until you die and even when you're retired you'll find life boring if you don't have anything to do. My advice would be: ask yourself what should YOU do to make better answers on the subject. Just as they say: don't worry just do something to find your own success.

Very often, especially at times for exams while I am still drunk and haven't studied yet. Also, it is very difficult to study when your parents are having financial constraints. I experienced that for so many times.

These situations you have encountered always happen in students' studies and what I would do if I were you is to try asking the others what they have written for their paper or it is even better if you can bring the question as well as your answer to another lecturer instead of the one teaching you and try to ask him to tell you what he feels about your answer and how you can improve. I hope this helps but what determines the success in study is the initiative to find out the solution/ answer that you do not know or understand.

Never, lol. Seriously I never experience difficulties in studying. That;s not because I'm so genius, no. I just think that study is funny. Each difficulty I found is funny. So I enjoy all the fun where I study. That explains why I love studying without worrying of getting some stresses. Yes, I study in a cool way, lol. Hopefully you can consider my way. Thank you very much.

being a students is the most lucky job.to tell you why, because you only ask money from your parents.study lessons which can be found at the books, online search.but when you work your the who support yourself. it is actual unlike while you study that you only search the answers.but the hardest thing of a student is when they are a self-supporting because you can't certainly focus on your study coz you need to work so that you can go to school.

hi there. when i was still studying, i hated it too, but i must admit that it is i who is giving myself a problem because i would usually get out of class, or just not attend the class, not do my home work etc etc. i was just too lazy when it came to "school". i would also have problems like yours too but what i would do is, go to the teacher, best time is when the teacher is free and you are not disturbing and distracting him or her from his or her work, then i talk to the teacher. when i talked to the teacher, i always give them this very sad face like i am really sorry, and that i regret doing what i did. good thing they gave me a chance too. just try going to them and ask them what you can do to make it up for your grades. i would also do that too, like whatever research they want me to do etc etc just so i could make my grades high. and just show them that you are improving in class, and hopefully they will give you another chance :)
and my other secret is, i pray a lot so i can have the courage to do it.. good luck smiley83 :)

hi smiley oh dear you are really scared. I think you need to see your
counselor as I am sure in any school or college you are all assigned a counselor who can really help you and will listen to you so do not give up yet. there are always answers to student's problems and if you have a sympathetic listener you will really get some help let us
'know how you make out.best of luck hugs from hatley.

Ms. hatley above provides a great solution. I would also ask that you perhaps contact your professor(s) and ask how you can better understand and or prepare for your assignments.
Also the counselor can perhaps suggest some tutoring for you. Try something to make your school life a bit easier. Honey ask for help, after all no one is perfect, so the additional help will be perhaps beneficial.
Good luck smiley and hope you can resolve and or alleviate some of the worries.

well this happens in each and every educational institute or organization...the teachers are always right,if you are sure that you are right than don't argue with the teachers as they are in the powers there..well in your matter you can do one thing which i used to do when i was in school.and teachers alloted me low grades for a answers which were almost perfect..i would visit the teacher personally and ask her/him what would have been the perfect answer and where would i get it,and how can i score more marks for such types of answers..well believe me most of the teachers can't reply you with anything..
